Magic Mirror Slot Review

That’s exactly the kind of images that Magic Mirror conjures up, taking you through enchanted forests and mystic oceans to seek out the treasures of an unknown land. The game itself could definitely benefit from having some sort of appropriate soundtrack added to it, in order to build up atmosphere and suspense while you play. Instead, Merkur have incorporated a generic ditty that seems to grace a large majority of their products, providing a more arcade feel to the game. However, this is really the only drawback that can be vastly spoken of when it comes to Magic Mirror.

Take a Step into a World of Fantasy

The standard five reel and three row layout is also present for this game, providing gamers with a familiar interface to wager on. And speaking of placing wagers, there are 10 fixed pay lines to do this on, and all players have the chance of altering around the bet amount they place each round. Using the plus and minus buttons next to the amount shown in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, you can switch this from its minimum of $0.10 up to its maximum of $20 per spin.

The reels themselves, while filled with standard A, J, K, Q and 10 icons, have had theme-relative icons added alongside. In that respect, you’ll find symbols of various images relating to fantasy, from a graceful looking unicorn, to a magical ring, a vast book of spells and incantations, as well as a female character who appears to have the look of a sorceress of some kind. These symbols are all pleasantly animated whenever they’ve been included in a win, providing an extra highlight of the product.

What Treasures Can be Found Within?

Playing slot games is compelling enough within itself, but these days, it’s more essential for them to have some kind of special features included to assist in providing an entertaining gaming experience. Magic Mirror has some wonderful extras added to it, starting first and foremost with its gamble feature. This is available in just about all Merkur products, offering up the chance to increase your winnings from the main game if they’re below $140. This allows you to choose from two different gamble games, the first being ‘Card Gamble’ and the second being ‘Ladder Gamble’.

If you decide to participate in the first game, you’ll be required to guess the colour of the next playing card to be turned over, red or black. Guessing correctly will see your winnings be doubled, while guessing incorrectly sees it all disappear. The ladder option presents you with a selection of values and a light flickering between them all. All you’re required to do is stop the light on the value which is higher than your current winnings.

The icon of the magic mirror itself is obviously going to have some significance in a game of the same name, and this one has more than one benefit. It first of all acts as a wild symbol, standing in for all others on the reels to create a winning combination with the highest possible pay out.

However, the same symbol is also marked as a scatter icon, meaning that it is exempt from the pay line rule. So, two or more of them appearing anywhere will offer a pay out. In addition, if you manage to spin three or more of these in any location, you’ll be rewarded with up to 10 freespins of the reels. At the beginning of the freespins rounds, a special symbol is automatically selected, which will expand to cover all positions on the reels should it bee included in a win during this round.

Do you Dare to Look into the Magic Mirror?

We think that this game is definitely worth playing, if only for the wonderfully drawn and animated icons on its reels. The fact that there are wilds, a gamble round and freespins included alongside make this a great product to participate in a few rounds of. The lack of appropriate music could be considered a little disheartening, but overall, it will provide you with a great and entertaining product.
