And that’s exactly what has happened with Sweet Cheese by EGT Interactive. This deliciously themed machine features a classic slots look with some gorgeous artwork of our rodent friends and the cheese they’ve been dreaming of, along with plenty of sugary treats as well. Already a proven success in the live casino world, the title is now being released to online gambling sites as part of a new crop of EGT games that will be hitting the market in the near future.

The Rat Race

The Sweet Cheese video slot machine is the creation of EGT Interactive, and is scheduled for release later this year. The title is already a familiar one to anyone who has visited a brick-and-mortar casino that uses games by Euro Games Technology, who first developed the live version that is being ported over to the iGaming realm. The graphical quality of this machine is quite high, with an elegant wood-paneled look to the reels augmented by some highly detailed images of food products and mice that have a hand-drawn look. The overall effect is quite attractive, and definitely stands out among games from this developer.

Players are hoping to make matches from left to right across the 3×5 layout, with up to 20 paylines available – though the live version allowed players to pick from anywhere between one and 20 lines to play. That, in combination with the ability to change the denomination of the coins being used, have made this a game with appeal for both low limit and high limit gamblers. The online version should also be fully mobile-optimized, allowing Android and iPhone users to get in on the fun.

The symbols in this game start with the basic card rank icons, ranging from tens through aces. For larger payouts, you’ll need to make matches of various food items that both mice and people out for a decadent meal might enjoy. These include mixed drinks with cheese garnish, pancakes, pies, and more. Finally, there are also several mice symbols that serve as the high-paying symbols, with each character having his or her own unique (and often adorable) look.

Playing Rat and Mouse

There are at least two special icons that gamblers will want to look out for while they navigate the Sweet Cheese video slot. First, you’ll want to look out for the wild symbols, which are represented by a display of several cheeses. These can substitute for any other icons in order to complete winning paylines. They also earn their own prizes; in fact, these wilds offer up the largest payouts possible on the machine, with players earning 2,500 times their line bet if they hit five in a row.

Next up are the scatter symbols, which are represented by mousetraps. Hit three or more of these anywhere on the reels, and you’ll not only win a prize, but you’ll also trigger a free spins round in which you will receive eight free plays with which to collect prizes. There is also a gamble feature that will give players the option to wager what they’ve won on the last spin for a 50/50 shot at doubling their prize.

The Cheese Stands Alone

While the theming might seem a bit odd, this is actually one of the best games in the EGT lineup. There’s no doubt that the presentation and overall quality are quite high in the live version, and we expect the interactive wing of this provider to do an excellent job of porting the exciting gameplay over to the web. The combination of a lighthearted, fun theme and gameplay that offers moderate volatility should make this title appealing to a wide range of both casual and serious gamblers. We’re looking forward to playing this game at an online casino soon, and will post a full review as soon as a free Sweet Cheese slot machine is released.
