Super Fortune Dragon Slot Review

On the surface this 5 reel, 10 payline game may seem to be fairly traditional, but beyond the naked eyed it could be argued that this game has more to offer than it may seem. With some generous wins in the mix, you do however have the chance to play in the Action Spins mode, whereby 4 reel sets play simultaneously. So, whether you want to spend 0.20 or 100 coins per spin this could well be the slot for you, as Super Fortune Dragon is making a solid effort to cover every base.

Now, before you speak up, we understand that most have seen countless Chinese themed slot games come and go over the years. The genre has reached a point where it is massively oversaturated, with there being no getting around this. But, as the old saying goes, there is always room for one more, with the following review addressing why Super Fortune Dragon might be the “one more” worth playing!

Set Against a Beautiful Palace

Blueprint Gaming’s free Super Fortune Dragon slot is fairly standard in its design for this type of slot game. Whilst it is not up there with the very top slots in the looks department – that much is obvious – it is however still extremely well done. As you would expect, this slot has all the standard Chinese themed clichés, with the Chinese palace backdrop to the reels, the Chinese lanterns and so forth. Being up front, this game isn’t going to blow you away with its looks, but we don’t think that such was ever the desired intention of Super Fortune Dragon video slot.

Diamonds are Forever

Let’s now look at the symbols on display and the possible rewards attached to them. For the A and K symbols, you can be awarded up to 200 coins per winning payline. For the Q, J and 10, the reward is up to100 coins per winning payline. The next payout of up to 300 coins is for the green and blue gemstones, while the red ruby will get you up to 400 coins. Now we need to look at the top payout, linked to the shining white diamond, which offers you 100, 300, and 500 coins by landing 3, 4, or 5 of them in a combination. The white diamond symbols can land in a stacked formation. So, if luck is on your side and you manage to fill all 5 reels with the top symbol, you will be looking at huge rewards of a 5,000-coin bonus (this equates to a mammoth 250x your stake).

Jump Right Into the Action

It is all pretty standard fair for players in Super Fortune Dragon up until this point. The Action Spins feature is what makes this slot most interesting and actually gives it a little extra edge. Win at least 4x your total bet and you will be given the following options. The obvious safe option is for you to take the money, however you may want to be brave and gamble, and thus try the excitement of the Action Spins on for size.

Action Spins take place on a new “machine”, with 4 different reel sets offering you 4 opportunities to win bigger and better prizes. The special dragon symbol is an extra that will help to improve your chances of winning. When they land they mutate into the same matching symbol, creating some potentially remarkable clusters.

Something a Little More Groovy

With such large numbers of Chinese themed slots out there at the moment, the developers around need to make their games to stand out from the crowd. We feel that Blueprint gaming have done this very well with Super Fortune Dragon. Whilst you may not believe it’s a must play slot, it is good enough to give it a go. If you are looking for online slots with a similar gameplay style, then Blueprint Gaming’s Austin Powers and Ted are also well worth trying as well, so keep an eye out for them

Seek Fortune in Super Fortune Dragon!

Your overall enjoyment of Super Fortune Dragon may well come down to your opinion of the Action Spins bonus element. Unfortunately, if you take these Action Spins away, it just becomes a very ordinary game. We would have liked to see a far better range of extras offered (possibly some free spins and even a mini-game or two). However, we certainly don’t think that free Super Fortune Dragon slot is a bad release; it’s just that it falls into the “forgettable” real cash game bracket too much for our liking.
