Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is a video slot that takes the well trodden Irish theme and tries to create something different. It’s one of the older games on the market, at over 5 years old, but it still manages to offer something different to most other games. While the base game has the standard 5 by 3 reel layout it does offer a very innovative bonus feature.

The game is based around an Irish Leprechaun who gives players the opportunity to travel to the Fortune Spin reels. Because the game has an Irish theme it’s no surprise that the symbols all relate to Ireland. There are pots of gold and emeralds all featured here. If Irish themed slots are what you enjoy then this is the game for you.
The symbols that are used in Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins slot are all tied to the Irish theme. With the title of the game that is no great shock, it does mean that the game uses this for the whole aesthetic though. At least 3 symbols are needed on a payline to create a win and there are no wild symbols included in the title, which is a bit of a let down. Wins can be created from any position and in any direction on the paylines though, which is a definite positive.
As previously mentioned, there are no wild symbols and no scatter symbols in the game. So it’s just the standard symbols as well as the bonus symbol in the bonus round. The high paying symbols for the game are as follows:
Players can also create wins with lower paying symbols. They are the following:
With the lower paying symbols making an appearance on a more regular basis than the higher paying symbols it is easier to create a win with these. The lack of wild symbols is a bit of an issue, but the ability to create wins from any starting point on a payline is a definite bonus. The pot of gold pays out the most here with a full reel of them paying out the maximum win.
There’s no scatter symbol in the Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins slot game, but it does have a bonus symbol which appears in the Fortune Spins bonus.

All 10 paylines in Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins are always active. Each payline pays out both ways and from any starting point, so it would make sense to keep them in play all of the time anyway. The staking for the game works at a single coin per payline, which means 10 coins are wagered on each spin in total. The minimum coin value is 0.01 and the maximum coin value is 10. So it means that the minimum total stake is set at 0.1 and the maximum total stake is set at 100.
Players can easily set up an autoplay system in the game too. So if you want to use a bankroll management strategy or just set up the right number of spins for your budget, it’s very easy to do. If you want to switch to the Fortune Spins feature then this requires players to manually carry it out, so the autoplay will have to be stopped.
In terms of bonus features there’s just a single feature offered to players in Luck O’ The Irish. This is the Fortune Spins feature. Unlike other video slots this feature can be activated at any time. All the player has to do is click on the button. It will then take players to the Fortune Spins special reels.
This is a collection of four reels. Here players are able to choose how much they want to bet per spin, with the same limits as the base game. What makes the four reels so special is the bonus symbol. When this symbol lands it will reveal one specific symbol. On the bonus reels, wherever the bonus symbol lands it will then appear in that position on all of the other reels. This means that potentially the majority of each reel can end up filled with the same symbol if enough bonus symbols land.
Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins was initially created in Flash. It meant that mobile compatibility was quite patchy at first. However, an update in 2017 added HTML5 support which means that the vast majority of mobile devices are able to run Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins.
An update in 2017 meant Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is widely available on mobile.
That Blueprint Gaming realised that the game had to be available to most mobile players shows that the company is dedicated to providing high quality titles to players.
The payout for Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is fixed at 500 times the player stake. This is quite a low payout for a high volatility game. As it’s a fixed jackpot as well it means there is no opportunity for it to increase as there would be in a progressive jackpot. (1)
The fixed jackpot means that players know from the outset the maximum that they are able to win when playing the slot.
The maximum payout in Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is 5,000 coins. This comes from the golden pot managing to completely fill the reels up.
In terms of visuals, Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is married very closely to its theme. The symbols on the reels and the background for the game are both very much entrenched in Irish stereotypes. It does look good as everything is drawn to a high quality, so there are no issues in terms of shoddy visuals.
The sound doesn’t quite match up to the visuals though. There’s no background music and the sound effects are very generic. For all of the effort put into the graphics, the sound has not had the same level of focus from the developers.
It does mean that the aesthetics are on the whole a bit of a mixed bag.
Because the Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins slot used an RNG (2) it does mean that you can’t accurately predict how the reels are going to land. This does mean that developing a strategy is mainly based around your budget rather than any specific way of playing.
There is no option to customise the paylines, but that’s not an issue because keeping as many paylines active as possible is always the best way to play slots. The Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins paylines are very good. They pay out from anywhere so players can create wins easier than a lot of other slots.
The autoplay feature allows players to simply set a run of spins based on their budget. This is a very useful tool if you want to carry out a bankroll management strategy based around specific numbers of spins at different stake levels. Once you have set your stake you can set up a number of spins and very quickly get the reels turning.
The lack of scatters and wilds does make the base game a little bit laboured. For players who want a bit more excitement and some actual bonus features, the Fortune Spins bonus round does offer some extra opportunities.
The RTP is a bit lower than the average on the market. It’s set at 95.05%. This means that on average players will get back 9,505 credits from every 10,000 credits that are wagered.
The volatility is a high one so it means that wins don’t come around that often. However, this does mean that when a win does arrive it tends to be higher than most other titles on the market. Sensible budgeting is required to get the most out of high volatility games.
This requires a sensible stake level and not going above what you can afford.
Of course, the RTP doesn’t mean that every game will play out exactly like that. It’s an average, so some games will pay out more and some will pay out less. If you get your strategy right then you will have the chance of getting a big win and then walking away with a profit.
Because the volatility is high, players will be disappointed if they expect regular wins to come along. Knowing that the game provides bigger wins but less often will make sure that you’re fully aware of what the game actually has to offer.
Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins has a relatively standard RTP and volatility in place, however the maximum payout is slightly below what is expected of a high volatility game.
We have given Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins a thorough review in order to provide you with the final scores. Take a look over what we have found out about the game so you are fully aware of what it has to offer:
User Experience: 4/5
The user experience for this slot is one of the best around. It loads up swiftly, doesn’t have much slowdown and the controls are easy to use. It’s also got a fantastic mobile conversion in place, making it very simple to use on any device. There are very few issues with how this game is laid out.
Game Features: 1/5
This is where Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins falls down somewhat. The features in the game are very much limited. There are no wilds or scatter symbols included. There’s also no free spins or respins offered. The only feature is the Fortune Spins feature. It’s not a bad feature, but the lack of wilds really does take a lot from this game.
Payouts: 2/5
The maximum payout for Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is set at 500 times the player stake. This is certainly way off what most people would expect for a high volatility slot. It does make it a little less appealing than other high volatility games with bigger maximum payouts on offer.
Sounds & Visuals: 3/5
Visually, Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is absolutely fantastic. Players can expect to see the Irish theme running through everything on screen. They’re also created to a very high quality, so they look great. However, the sounds are very much lacklustre. The sound that’s offered definitely draws the total score for this section back by quite a lot.
Final Rating: 2.5/5
Luck O’ The Irish Fortune Spins is a game that has a lot of wasted potential. This could be one of the best games around, the payline layout in particular is absolutely excellent. However the lack of wild symbols and low maximum payout are both significant drawbacks that stop it from being a genuinely top tier video slot.
