Secrets of the Sand Slot Review

While Novomatic’s usual attempts at bringing unique and innovative games to the table don’t very frequently work out, Secrets of the Sand presents an all new take on not only the theme, but the interface you’re playing on as well. With that being the case, players will get to experience a graphically pleasing product, filled with vivid animations and one or two extra special features to further add to the appeal.

A Game with Modern Features

The first thing you’ll notice about this game is that it has two sets of reels, one with a blue background and one with a red background. Each of these sets has five reels each, and three rows. Ultimately, they work as two separate sets, but also have the possibility of working as a whole block of 10 reels. Upon these reels, you’ll find all the relative imagery for an ancient Egypt product, with icons such as sarcophagi, ancient relic books, scarabs, gold urns and an Egyptian woman who could possibly by the goddess, Isis all making appearances. In addition to these, there are the regular A, J, K, Q and 10 icons alongside, all of which have been intricately designed to fit in with the graphical content of the product.

As well as the reels and rows incorporated into the game, players will also notice that there are a total of 20 separate pay lines included as well. These are split across both sets of reels, with 10 on each, and they can be customised to suit your own personal preferences, should you feel the need to do so. Further to this, all players can also alter the amount of the wager they place in each round, using the plus and minus buttons at either side of the amount currently shown. Beginning from $0.02 per line, this can be switched up to its maximum of $5, and if you should have all 20 pay lines active, you’ll be able to place a maximum overall wager of $100 per spin.

The Wonder and Awe of Ancient Egypt

Secrets of the Sand has a few different special features included in it, starting with its own wild icon. This is represented by the book of relics, and as a wild symbol, it will substitute for any other icon on the reels in order to make a winning combination. And furthermore, if you spin five of these onto a a winning pay line, you will receive a pay out of $10,000.

In addition to its wild capabilities, the book of relics also provides a scatter symbol to the product. Three or more of them appearing on the reels will trigger the freespins round, with an initial amount of five being awarded. During this round, there is also a special feature included, which is the expanding icon. At the start of the freespins round, one special expanding symbol is randomly selected. During this round, and after the pay out of regular symbols, the special icon may appear and expand to cover three positions on the reel.

Novomatic have also included a gamble feature into the game as well. This is triggered at the end of every winning combination during the base game. It allows you to try and increase your winnings by playing a side game. Should you choose to do this, you will be given a new screen with some playing cards stacked on it. Your job here is to guess the colour of the next card to be turned over, red or black. If you make a correct guess, you’ll find your winnings will be doubled, while an incorrect guess will see you lose everything.

Secrets to Witness

This game provides a unique take on a very overdone theme, and that’s definitely something refreshing to see, especially coming from this provider. It incorporates wonderful graphics, thrilling special features and the perfect influx of its base theme.
