This retro slot machine is a must for slot players who love to play simple yet classic slot machines for big potential payouts.

Familiar Look

If you’ve ever played a land based fruit machine, you will recognise the design of Hold It straight away, with its four reels taking up the centre of the screen and paylines running through the reels to highlight the different winning lines. Beneath each of the reels is the word ‘Hold’ and above each of the reels are the words ‘Hold It’.

When you trigger certain wins, the ‘Hold It’ words will flash. There is a citrus colour scheme featured behind the reels and you will find your betting buttons and other options beneath your reels.

With this being a pub-style fruit machine, you can expect to find the following symbols on your reels; bells, watermelons, grapes, strawberries, cherries, oranges, lemons, plums, pears and even four leaf clovers.

Set Your Bets

You will need to set your bets before spinning the reels and you can do this to the bottom of your screen. There’s no option to adjust the paylines, because you will have to play the maximum 10 paylines in every spin. All you need to do is use the plus and minus buttons either side of the bet options to get to the bet you want to stake.

Want to sit back and watch the game play automatically? No problem, because there is an autospin feature that will allow you to do just that. You can choose the amount you wish to play automatically, or you can set the machine to play until you trigger a win. Whatever you decide, you can go back to playing manually at any stage if you wish to do so.

Highest paying symbols on the reels is the Hold It symbol, which will award you with a 40x multiplier should you spin in 3 of a kind. The second highest paying symbol on the reels is the bells, which will award a 10x multiplier – so if you were to bet maximum stakes, the Hold It symbols would give a 20,000 jackpot whilst the bells would award a generous 5,000 payout.

What About the Bonuses?

Gamble – to start with, there is a simple gamble feature which is a game of pure luck – there’s no skill required whatsoever. Any win that you may have on your reels will light up the gamble button to the lower of the fourth reel. Now, if you wish to try your luck and go for double or nothing, you have to guess what colour the next suit is going to be. The red heart and black spade will be flashing and you click the colour you think it will be, the correct colour will be highlighted beneath your flashing icons. Guess right and you’ll double your cash – guess wrong and you won’t win anything, so you better choose wisely and know when to quit.

Wild – the Hold It symbol is a wild and will substitute for all symbols on the reels to help produce wins. When a Hold It symbol spins onto your reels with no win, it will hold that reel in its current place for the next spin. If it falls into place and produces a win, it won’t hold for your next spin.

It’s Got a Hold on Us

What we love about Hold It from Novomatic is the way you can win from left to right and right to left. We were certainly a little puzzled when we first started playing and left wondering why there were four reels but you only needed to match three symbols to win, then it dawned on us that this slot machine pays both ways.

There are limited features, but the hold it facility provides extra excitement and additional ways to win. If you are a fan of retro slots with the possibility of winning some large amounts of cash, then we suggest you try Hold It Casino slot machine.
