Always Hot Cubes Slot Review

If you’re the kind of gamer who enjoys seeking out new and unique ways of playing slot products, you might want to check out the ‘Always Hot Cubes’ game from Novomatic. It’s great when you’re able to find a developer who will go out of the guidelines of producing “just another standard video slot”. And while Novomatic might not be the bravest at doing this on a consistent enough basis, when they do, it stands out. That’s why this one, with its vaguely Chinese inspiration and extremely casino-game inspired game play, can be considered a bit more prominent than several other developments from this provider. So, the only question that remains is, “Are you ready to get hot?”, because there’s a game here waiting for you.

Burning Reels of Goodness!

The layout of this product offers up a three reel and three row layout, providing gamers with more of a classic slot machine interface. There are also five fixed lines included in it as well, offering something a little bit more stable in terms of this. Players can change the amount that is wagered on the game, using the plus and minus buttons next to the current amount shown to increase the value from its minimum of $0.01 up to its maximum of $10 per pay line. Having this at its maximum will provide all players with the opportunity of placing an overall bet of $50 per spin.

The icons offered up in this game are provided as dice in the first part, with six different colours of such. Each different colour also has a different number printed on it from one to six. So, there’s red for number one, orange for number two, yellow for number three, blue for number four, purple for number five and green for number six, which also offers out the highest pay out for the dice icons. In addition, players will find the mild Chinese influence coming in from the remaining icons, two of which have symbols on them relating to the country’s script. The final icon is that of a yellow star. Of course, there isn’t any specific music included other than a standard little ditty that plays when you spin the reels.

Game On!

It’s one thing to have an innovative take on the slot machine genre, providing reels filled with dice icons, however, it’s completely another to push that game to the next level. With that being said, Novomatic does fall a bit slip short when it comes to the added extras in this one. That is to say that there actually aren’t any included as far as wilds or scatters go.

The only real addition to this game to accompany its base product is the gamble feature. This is triggered after every winning combination created on the reels. When this happens, you’re able to choose from taking the winnings as they are, or gambling them to try and increase the money earned. Obviously, choosing the former will see the funds added to your balance, while opting for the latter will bring a small side game onto your screen.

The side game is presented as a deck of cards with a ‘Red’ and a ‘Black’ button at either side of it. You are required to guess which of these two colours the next card to be turned over will be. If you guess correctly, your winnings will be doubled, and you can have another go. Any incorrect guess will render your winnings completely null and void though, so do be aware of the strong risk that there is here. It’s a 50/50 chance of being correct.

Hot Under the Collar?

So, is such a game really worth playing? After all, don’t most people enjoy the extra features that are included in today’s products, such as freespin rounds or bonus games added on? Well, yes, perhaps a large majority of players do. But there’s still enough of a market for providers to continue creating games in the same vein as this one. While Always Hot Cubes may not necessarily feature the best graphics or wildly stunning game play, it does have some kind of uniqueness to it, and even just a small hint of such is worth checking out a product for.
