Merkur are behind the 5 reels of this exotic game, as you’ll no doubt be able to tell from the design of the theme and the way it’s laid out; each brand has their own way of doing things. With this company, they prefer to deliver understated aesthetics that set the scene, but don’t take away from the powerful dynamics of the gameplay.

A Land of Colour

The first aspect of this real cash slot that we truly noticed was how colourful it is. Many Merkur games have a dull and lifeless looking interface, their colour palette awash with muted tones. But here we have vibrance; just the intensity we need to get set for a trip to all the landmarks that Secrets of India has to offer us.

What this does mean however, is that the interface is much busier than you might be used to, which lends itself to a lot of distractions. No part of the gaming screen is without something new to look at, and with so much demanding your attention, it’s easy to lose focus of the end goal of the game. And in case you’re not sure, it’s to win whatever treasures this 50 paylines title is hiding.

The Way of the Lily

To unlock the potential of the reels, you need to get at least three flower symbols, bright in their pink beauty. When you do this, 10 extra games will become yours to command, with your bet unaffected by the gameplay; talk about saving those pennies for a rainy day. But we haven’t got to the best part: you can reactivate the rounds within this feature, allowing for a longer period of free gaming.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, there is a cash prize that comes with the winning line, but it doesn’t exactly knock your socks off when it appears; it can be worth between 2 and 80 coins. The latter figure is much easier on the eyes, but when compared with the white tiger worth as much as 400, we can’t help but feel shortchanged.

When Boy Meets Girl

As in most slots, a scatter icon (the symbol discussed above) doesn’t do well without a wild to help it along, and in Secrets of India that tile is a pretty local girl. Her beaming face not only warms the heart, but brings the ability to move other symbols around, though as always it has no power over the scatter.

Furthermore, should she show up during the free games, her powers will expand onto the second, third, fourth and fifth reels. Regularly occurring wilds are never going to hurt your wallet, in fact they’ll improve it, and so we can’t commend Merkur enough for making this part of the gameplay.

Finding Yourself

Often when people travel, they do so because it holds great value for them, e.g. they want to rediscover themselves. The thing is, exploring other countries is a pretty expensive way of finding yourself, or at least it is when you explore conventionally; play with Secrets of India and it’ll cost you nothing. Okay, it’ll cost you 0.50 credits, which is not a huge amount.

Even should you want to stake the maximum figure, that is no more than 20.00, which for a 50 winlines slot machine is both surprising and impressive. The payouts might not be a staggering as slots with higher pay-ins, but the rewards are still substantial.

No More Secrets

You can’t keep a secret forever, for eventually it’ll get out and reveal itself to the world, which is exactly what Secrets of India does when you play it: it reveals its true self.
