Big Top Fun

To get us started in Circus Brilliant there are the playing card symbols – Ace King, Queen and Jack – and these help to keep our bank balances ticking by paying 10 coins, 20 coins and 100 coins for matching three, four or five respectively.

Last of the main game symbols is the Clown, and whether you find them funny or creepy it matters not: you will want to spin three or more of this crazy character on your reels given the prizes he pulls from up his sleeve (50, 200 and 1,000 coins for matching three, four or five on a payline).

The wild symbol is where all of the circus action takes place, the Big Top, and this does the fantastic job of substituting for all other symbols on the game board. This ensures that you can maximise your winning spins by creating combinations that otherwise aren’t winners. To add the cherry on the cake, the Big Top also pays 15, 100, 1,000, 10,000 coins for spinning two, three, four or five of the symbols on your reels.

Circus Extraordinaire

Traditionally, the free spins round in online games is triggered by spinning three or more of the scatter symbol. In Circus Brilliant, the goalposts are moved somewhat. Here, you have to spin five of a symbol on an active payline in order to trigger some freebies, which are earned in the following denominations:

• Five Playing Card symbols = 5 free spins.
• Five of the Circus Acts symbols = 15 free spins.
• Five of the Ringleader or Clown symbols = 50 free spins.

Of course, these freebies are earned in addition to the relevant prize for spinning five or more of the symbol, although it has to be said that by traditional free spins round triggering requirements, this is a rather tricky task to pull off and worst still the feature cannot be re-triggered. But the good news that each win you achieve with a free spin is subject to a 2x multiplier.

If you have a taste for the finer things in life and consider wins of less than 700 coins to be small fry then you’re in luck: you can gamble all of your wins of amounts less than 700 coins for the chance to double up. The requirements are fairly straightforward and you have a one in two chance of winning; simply guess the correct colour of an upturned playing card, red or black.

This game might take in a circus but the Jackpot Cards feature from EGT is no trick. Available in pretty much all their titles, this phenomenal bonus round enables players to win one of four brilliant jackpots; the amounts of which you can see scrolling at the top of your screen.
