The 5×3 reel set of the game is designed with simple graphics and an even simpler gameplay – at least at first. With an average RTP of 95% and a medium variance, Barkin’ Mad could still surprise even the most experienced players. Find out more about the game in our full review right here.
Happy like a Dog in a Good Home
Barkin’ Mad is taking players to a familiar yet unexpected destination: a very standard backyard, with a wooden fence running all around and a small doghouse in one corner. The colourful graphics are pleasant to look at, but the reels and command buttons take up so much space that the background is actually almost entirely covered up.
Barkin’ Mad is an original slot game, but players looking for a superior graphic quality will probably feel a little disappointed after a few spins. That being said, Barkin’ Mad has more to offer in terms of gameplay as we will see now.
Digging up Lost Bones
The basic rules of Barkin’ Mad are simple. The 10 paylines are fixed so start by using the plus and minus buttons under the reels to choose a wager from 0.10 to 400 credits in total. Normal spin and autoplay game mode are available at will, so you can get started on the reels as fast as possible with the bet of your choosing.
The game’s average volatility makes it very accessible, allowing small to big wins to fall at basically any time. As for the paytable, it contains only card symbols and various dog icons, with a top win set at 500 times your current bet value. The reels spin fast in Barkin’ Mad and the game works at a fast pace, which is always fun and exciting. We could win decent prizes fairly early into the game when we tested it, not to mention the several bonus features that we could unlock as well.
Find the Bonus Wheel and Other Special Features
The wild symbols are fairly common on the reels of Barkin’ Mad, ready to replace the other icons at will. All wilds are sticky by default, which means that they will stay in position when they fail to trigger a cash prize at first. And if you still don’t score a prize, you still have a chance to trigger the wild dog bonus, which awards a random extra wild with a multiplier after a failed spin.
The Barkin’ Mad logos are scatters, of which you will need 3 to initiate the Barkin’ Mad bonus round of 10 free spins. You can win more free games by scoring more logos, and all wilds obtained during the bonus will stay in position until the end. And like in many other Barcrest slots, Barkin’ Mad special a special game mode called the Big Bet game. Use it to risk more credits on a specific number of spins and increase your chances to win big. While in this game mode, you also get a chance to unlock the showtime bonus, which is a bonus wheel ready to award free spins and win multipliers to the lucky gamblers.
Way More Entertaining Than You Would Think
Barkin’ Mad starts off as a simple slot game with an original theme and a very basic gameplay. But if you dig a little deeper you will soon find out that this new Barcrest creation is rich in bonus features, which are the key to many free spins and extra multipliers.
Overall, Barkin’ Mad was a much more gratifying experience for us than we originally thought it would be. The gameplay is a bit similar to King Kong Cash’s by Blueprint, but the sheer amount of bonus feature makes Barkin’ Mad definitely worth a try if you are serious about winning big and having fun.
