There’s a free spins bonus round to aim for, and while free games cannot be retriggered during the free spins, during the feature you will get additional wilds added to reels 2, 3 and 4. You can begin play with 8.00 coins, going all the way up to a high limit of 800 for the high rollers.

Horror From Novomatic

Tales of Darkness Full Moon features software by Novomatic, a major player in the online and land-based casino markets. The developer has been in business since the 1980s and operates subsidiaries in as many as 50 countries. Boasting a range of free play casino games that won’t cost you a dime to enjoy, Novomatic is also known for games offering solid return-to-player payouts – ideal for those who are new to the world of gambling.

This free slot is not the only one of its kind. It is, in fact, part of a relatively recent range created with the North American market in mind. The Tales of Darkness series has four titles: Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Break of Dawn and Midnight Heat. Beyond this, Novomatic is working on more games for US and Canadian casinos, including Black Jaguar, Dancing Dragon and Pure Jewels Extreme. However, you definitely don’t have to be based in North America to play the Tales of Darkness Full Moon video slot. As always, though, it’s always best to check with the casino to be sure of any exclusions in your territory.

Twenty Free Games

On the 5 reels you’ll find alphanumeric playing cards A, K, J, Q, 9 and 10. In terms of pictorial symbols, you have a black cat and owl offering slightly more value than the letters and numbers. A fearsome grey wolf with red eyes is ready to pounce, offering even more money. The protagonist of the piece is a mysterious-looking gentleman. He’s quite possibly a vampire, although it is hard to tell for sure. Five of him on the reels will land you a whopping 20,000 coins.

But you’re really in business when you get to the wild and scatter symbols. The wild will substitute for all others except that scatter, but it can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. It is depicted by some creepy eyes appearing to belong to a beast and a big gold ‘WILD’ inscription. The scatter is a full moon with bats flying in the foreground and the word ‘scatter’ written across it. Five of these will land you 16,000 coins, while 3, 4, or 5 will get you 10, 15, or 20 free games – the Full Moon bonus.

If you prefer to give yourself an easy life when it comes to spinning, select the auto button at the bottom right of the screen to let the reels do the spinning for you. Similarly, the max bet button will shortcut you to the highest wager possible.

More Tales of Darkness

So, if you’ve enjoyed Full Moon, the natural thing would be to try one of the other titles in the Tales of Darkness range. Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn is another horror theme slot. It features male and female wild vampires, another moon and bat scatter symbol, and the potential for up to 15 free spins – which is the Break of Dawn bonus. This is 5 fewer spins than what’s offered on Full Moon, but you still only need at least three scatters in any reel position to activate it. Break of Dawn has 10 more paylines, taking it up to 50, and although it is played out on five reels, during the feature round the number of paylines doubles. Unlike in Full Moon, further free games can be won during the free spins round.

Tales of Darkness Lunar Eclipse is also very similar in terms of style, although it’s one of a number of 6-reel slots on the market. There are just 10 win lines with this one, and you must land at least 3 scatters to access the Lunar Eclipse bonus round. The major difference in Lunar Eclipse is that at the beginning of these free spins, a standard symbol is chosen at random as the bonus and is turned to gold. It then replaces the original on the reels and becomes a stacked wild in the free games, appearing only on reels 2 and 5. When it does appear, it expands to cover the two positions next to it, increasing your chances of a combination.

Although these games were all launched in the middle of 2017, the RTP is yet unknown. However, Novomatic is a reliable brand with a reputation for offering decent payout percentages, so you should have little to worry about in that respect.

Eerie Amusement With Prizes

Chances are, if you enjoy the likes of the Twilight movie franchise, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this will be right up your street. Tales of Darkness Full Moon does spooky pretty well, and if you want to be properly freaked out, play it late at night in the dark to get the full effect of the ambiance-evoking soundtrack.

This slot is a great starting point for players who are new to online gambling as it’s simple, straightforward and easy to play, with a handy pay table to keep track of the scores on the board. Plus, the range of bets makes this one perfect for the big spenders. So lock your door, pull down the shutters, and get ready for some frightening fun under a full moon.
