If you think you have the nerve to fend off these mythical beasts, you can expect to enjoy bonus features such as wild symbols, expanding wilds, shifting wilds, free spins and a gamble feature on the reels of this entertaining online slot. Read on to learn more about this bloodthirsty slot from Novomatic.

That First Nibble

This free online slot certainly looks the part, as you will soon learn for yourself when you load it up onto your screen. It’s dark and gloomy, as you might expect from its theme, but the graphics are top quality and really help immerse you in the game. The artwork on both its backdrop and symbols is excellent, and the animations are pretty flawless too.

A horse, candles and lanterns appear as the game’s theme-related symbols, giving you the chance to land larger payouts in the base game. The remaining standard symbols are represented by the nine, ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace playing cards. It might seem that there aren’t too many theme-related symbols in this slot. But the two different wild symbols that are often seen on the reels, as well as the scatter symbols, soon make up for any disappointment.

The wilds in Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn appear in the guise of the red lady vampire and the purple male vampire. Both of these will work together to bring you valuable wins on the reels by substituting for all other symbols apart from the scatter. The flying vampire bats scatter can bring you handsome wins, and it will also activate the game’s main bonus feature.

Fangs, Fun and Features

Featuring a betting range of 400 to 10,000 credits, the free spins round is definitely the standout feature on the Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn video slot. This is activated when you land three or more of the scatter symbols on the reels. Once you have been fortunate enough to do so, you will be awarded 15 free spins. This is no ordinary free spins round, though, as it is here where you experience the excellent shifting wilds feature.

During the free spins round, if the male or female vampire wild symbols appear on the middle reel, they will turn the entire reel wild before moving one reel at a time in any direction for the next two spins. And if the vampire couple symbol lands on that middle reel, it will also turn the entire reel wild – this time moving in both directions for the next two spins.

A gamble feature is also available on the free Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn video slot. Just like in other recent releases from Novomatic, this feature involves nothing more than guessing the colour of the next playing card. Essentially, it is a 50/50 game where you can double up any winnings you have just found on the reels. It’s also an optional gamble, but just remember that if you guess wrong, all of those winnings will be lost.

A Ray of Sunlight

Mobile technology literally dominates the world right now. It would be a little silly of Novomatic not to ensure that this free online slot is mobile-optimised, with the compatibility to be run on a wide range of mobile devices. As expected, they have certainly delivered on this, meaning you can enjoy Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn regardless of whether you own a Windows 10 smartphone or an Android-powered tablet.

Besides, while this slot can be played for real money at the various real money casinos out there, you’ll be happy to hear that you can play for free too. Most online casinos will give you the option to play for free or for real cash, as they know that some players like to test out the games first before risking their own hard-earned money. If players feel comfortable, there is always the chance that they will part with some real cash in the near future.

More Toothy Fiends

If vampires, werewolves and other mystical beasts are your thing, you should definitely check out the NetEnt title Dracula, a 5-reel, 20-payline slot themed around the Dracula novel. Stacked symbols, free spins and a bonus game are just some of the features you can look forward to here.

The talented developers at Merkur Gaming have also delved into vampire-themed slots with Vampires, a 5-reel, 5-payline slot that is much more of a simple affair than Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn. Scatters and wild symbols are the only features of note on this slot, but this does not matter much considering there’s a top payout of 1,000x the line bet up for grabs.

Worth Staking a Bet?

Tales of Darkness Break of Dawn is another excellent creation by Novomatic, and one we feel will become pretty popular at the casinos online. With a great combination of good graphics, lucrative features and an interesting theme, this one’s an entertaining online slot with that extra bite needed to stand out from the rest.

Whether or not horror-themed slots happen to be your thing, there is enough on offer from this online title to ensure you have a great online gambling experience. Grab a clove of garlic and a wooden stake, and try it out today. You are going to love getting your teeth into this latest release from Novomatic.
