Play this slot and take your chances against Faust’s adversary, Mephistopheles in the ultimate game of chance.

But will you end up selling your soul to win? Here’s a closer look at Faust by Novomatic with everything you need to know.

Compelling Characters

The story of Faust is one of the most compelling in fictional history, and one that’s been retold by many playwrights and authors over the years.

This slot is based on the retelling of the tale by Goethe, a German writer, who created a lover for Faust, an innocent girl known as Gretchen who was the fallen hero’s muse. In the book, Gretchen pleads for Faust’s soul with God, and manages to prevent Mephisto from delivering him to the Devil’s clutches.

And on the reels of this slot, you’ll find the same intriguing combination of characters which really bring the story to life. As well as an abundance of gemstones and jewelled letters representing playing cards, the famous trio of Faust, Gretchen and Mephisto all appear.

But under your expert fingers, which one will emerge as the victor?

Huge Returns

As Faust was so enamoured with wealth and riches, it’s perhaps fitting that this game offers some of the biggest prizes and payouts.

You’ll be playing on five reels with 10 fixed paylines with a coin value that can be adjusted between 40 and 1,000 per spin.

But in return for whatever you choose to bet, you could win a prize of up to 5,000,000. This is the top prize on the board and is triggered if you manage to spin five Faust symbols along an active payline. Five Mephistos – perish the thought! – earn you a cool 2,000,000, while a quintet of Gretchens pays the same.

You’ll be able to claim a prize for matching up two or more symbols, but for the lower value ones you’ll need a line of at least three.

Special Symbols

As well as getting a line of regular symbols, there are some extra features on the board which could help you claim prizes.

Mephisto, the mischievous messenger from Hell doubles up as the scatter symbol, and if you land three on the board, you’ll win 10 free spins too.

However, these are no ordinary free spins because a symbol will be chosen to expand. Every time you land this symbol, it will expand to fill up the entire reel. If you get more than one the potential winnings can be absolutely huge, particularly if the chosen symbol is one of the high value ones.

There’s not any particular bonuses on Faust, but this free spins and expanding symbol feature is very popular among players and is enough to get individuals returning time and again because of the possibility of a very good win.

Play on the Go

You might want to settle down at home for a long session playing the slots, or if you’re out and about, you might just want a few games while you’re waiting around.

The good news is that Novomatic have made this title, and many others, available on a range of different platforms so whether you’re on your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop PC you can enjoy a game or two.

There’s even a demo mode which allows you to try out Faust without risking any of your own cash, playing instead within a simulated environment. You won’t get a huge amount of credit and the game finishes relatively quickly but it’s a great way to see if Faust is for you and whether you want to go on and formally register for the live version.

Devilishly Good Fun

Faust by Novomatic has a fascinating theme and anyone who is a fan of fantasy genre will be tempted to play. Almost identical in format to other offerings such as Lord of the Ocean and Book of Ra Deluxe, it’s a popular style of game.

There’s a bit of a lack of features with no bonus games, but the free spins and expanding symbols more than makes up for its other shortcomings.
