Extreme Riches Slot Review

Slot machines of old will have a special place in the heart of many of you who’ll remember the iconic bars, fruits and sevens, as well as simple features such as the classic nudge and the hold buttons which held any selected reels in place. Extreme Riches by Novomatic might not have those features, but it will certainly take you back to those days of sticking your loose change into pub fruit machines of the past after buying your last pint.

The features to expect on Extreme Fruits are wild symbols, multipliers, free spins, a gamble feature, and the icing on the cake: a progressive jackpot. It is almost like a classic slot combined with the modern features found on more modern creations.

Tasty Graphics

In a graphical sense, the free Extreme Riches video slot does fairly well, despite obviously being designed to look quite simple and reflective of what classic-themed slots used to look like down at your local pub. It has been created in high definition, and the symbols on the reels have been drawn to a pretty high quality.

Where it does start to look a little basic is the controls, as these are about as retro as you can get. Apart from that, though, this game has its very own aesthetic appeal, and one that will resonate with those with a love of old fruit machines.

As for your betting options on this free online slot, you can bet for as low as 0.04 per spin – but that is to cover just one payline. The full 20 paylines will cost you a minimum of 1 coin per spin, or a max bet of 50 coins.

Bearing Fruits

As you might expect, the symbols on the reels of the free Extreme Riches slot are the many fruits, bars and sevens that are the defining features of retro-themed slots. Cherries, lemons, oranges and plums are where the low-paying wins will come from, each paying out a maximum of 40x the line bet on appearing five times in a winning combination.

Grapes, bells and watermelons are worth a top payout of 60x, while single bars and double bars have the potential to pay out as much as 100x and 150x the line bet respectively. As for the high-paying standard symbols, these will be the triple bars and the red sevens, which could be worth 200x and 250x the line bet respectively.

Apart from the progressive jackpot, which can only be won during the free spins round, the largest payout you can receive on the reels will come from the Joker wild symbol. Land him five times across a payline, and he will pay out a tasty 1,000x the line bet. As for that progressive jackpot, you will need to fill every reel with the Jolly symbol to get your hands on it.

Fruitylicious Features

The Joker wild symbol will also bring in wins when you normally wouldn’t expect them, as it can substitute for any other symbol on the reels apart from the scatter symbol. The scatter symbol itself can bring in wins, too, when it lands at least three times in view on your reels. You will get 1x, 10x, or 100x the total bet you staked on the spin if you land it three, four or five times.

Furthermore, three or more of those symbols will kick the free spins round into action. You are given ten of these free games, and any wins you land will be doubled with a 2x multiplier. This multiplier can actually be increased incrementally by as much as 10x, going up every time you manage to retrigger the free spins round with further scatter symbols.

A gamble feature is the only other feature of note on Extreme Riches. You can opt to use this after each win that you land on the reels. You can gamble the payout you have just received by predicting the colour of the next playing card to be revealed. This is a 50/50 game of chance – should you win, you will double your money. Lose, and you lose everything you started with.

Looking for Another Bite?

Call of Fruity by Barcrest is another retro-themed fruit machine style slot that we think you will enjoy, should you ever want a break from Extreme Riches. This is similarly a classic slot, but it does have additional features such as expanding wilds and a pick me bonus round.

If you are a fan of the work that Fugaso has been producing over the years, Fruits of Neon would also be a good alternative. It incorporates a more modern look to the classic style of fruities, and since it offers the potential of landing 20 lucrative free spins, it may be well worth a try. There will not be a shortage of other slots designed around this theme, either, so we are more than sure that you could easily find a few others to test out should your luck not be in with Extreme Riches.

A Tasty Option?

We have to say that we are quite impressed with Extreme Riches, one of Novomatic’s most recent releases. It offers up a simple online gambling experience, but one that fans of classic slots are going to find very appealing. The addition of some good bonus features certainly helps to spice up the action on this slot. Plus, of course, a progressive jackpot is always a welcome addition to an online slot game.
