The graphics will be the first thing you notice on this slot, as they’re 3D and really pop from the screen, enhancing the overall atmosphere of absolute serenity. A gold scrolling frame encases the reels on which you’ll find rhinos and elephants adorned with gilded headdresses and the beautiful lotus flowers, too. But will you be able to find your own piece of heaven in this game? Here’s a review of Shangri La with all the info you need to play.

Enjoy Paradise

With such a stunning setting it would be easy to sit back and simply take it all in but if you want to win cash prizes you’ll need to set up your bet. There are5 reels in this slot and 25 paylines; these are fixed and cannot be reduced. However, you’ll still have the option to bet per line, starting at a total min bet of 0.20 and climbing to 10.00 per line, a total max bet of 200.00. There’s a medium level of variance and a theoretical RTP of 96.63%. If you want to take things easy you can use the Auto Play function, which won’t affect your chances of racking up prizes.

Heavenly Bonuses

There’s more to Shangri La than just nice scenery as you’ll find as you start to play on the reels. The Far Eastern girl symbol is the wild for the game and will stand in for others to make it easier to line up a winning combination. As an extra advantage, when you use the wild to make a match the prize payout will be doubled. In some rounds the entire reel on 2, 3 or 4 will be turned wild, too. You’ll also find a scatter and if you land three or more, you’ll be given the chance to spin the special prize reel. Here you could win anything from free spins to multipliers or even access to the bonus round.

If you win free spins, you’ll receive 8 turns which can be retriggered during play. There’s also an enhanced prize known as “superfree” games which means that you have 12 free spins plus some of the symbols will definitely be special wilds. This game can also be retriggered. One of the other options is the Chest Bonus which is essentially a Pick Me round. Click on each of the chests to gather prizes until you reveal the trap which ends the round. There’s also a trail bonus where you’ll be attempting to follow the maps by spinning the wheel and seeing how many steps you can take. Your journey will be cut shut if you spin an X.

Sought After Destination

Shangri La is a mystical location that is hitherto undiscovered yet remains as a sacred spot for explorers desperate to find this tiny slice of unspoilt world. It’s therefore not an altogether surprise that there would be more than one game that pays tribute to this very special place. Shangri-La from Rival is another slot dedicated to the same theme, also offering the same standout 3D graphics. With 5 reels and 20 paylines, plus a progressive bonus payout, there’s plenty to make you want to linger a little longer in this Utopian paradise. But with a bonus round too, including two big prize wheels, this slot could deliver on substance as well as aesthetics.

Go on a Journey

Shangri La from NextGen is an online video slot which explores one of the last unspoilt places to be found on the planet. A hidden gem where you can truly escape your stresses and strains, it’s a destination that many would love to visit for real! With special bonus features packed into this game, it’s veritable feast of prizes and payouts but due to the complexity it’s better suited to those with more experience.
