      The Super Eighties Slot Review

We’re still waiting for a better period in time than the 1980s to return. It’s one of the best periods in history, especially where technology and music are concerned. Oh, sure. They’ve both advanced since that time, and without a doubt, both are much more accessible today. But, if it wasn’t for the revolutionary 80s, there would be many things we wouldn’t have today. And as part of its series on various decades from the past, which includes products on both the 60s and 70s, Netent have crafted a dedication to this wonderful era, entitling it, ‘The Super Eighties’. And in doing so, they’ve also incorporated a piece of music which will invoke a bucket load of nostalgia for those of you who were alive to experience the age. Each of the games in this series incorporate the same types of features, although they are, of course, graphically dedicated and relative to each of their respective themes. It’s vividly coloured and expertly crafted, meaning that you’ll have access to a very intriguing game from this developer.

      Retro Reels

This product offers up a total of five reels and four rows, as do all the games in this series. If you’ve played ‘The Funky Seventies’ or ‘The Groovy Sixties’ before, you’ll recognise this interface as being a familiar layout to game on. Upon these reels, there are numerous items from the 80s period that have been used as symbols, so you’ll be able to spin your way through stiletto shoes, game joysticks and the very first mobile cellphones. In addition, there’s the inclusion of skateboard icons, portable walkmans, and a flashy red, retro car. These are all accompanied by regularly occurring icons in the form of A, J, K and Q, which have all been given a retro, neon design to match with the era in question.

As well as its reels and rows, The Super Eighties presents players with a total of 40 different bet lines. These can, however, be customised in the instance that you would like to gamble on less. Should this be the case, you can either use the ‘Bet Lines’ button to go through them one by one, or just press on one of the numbers down the left and right hand sides of the reels to choose the amount to wager on. Further customisation comes in the form of choosing you wager amount, which you are able to do by switching the ‘Bet Level’ from between one and five, and/or the ‘Coin Value’ from between $0.01 and $0.50 per line. This allows all players to place a maximum overall wager of $100 per spin.

A Nostalgic Mass of Extra Features

Like its series brothers and sisters, this game doesn’t provide its players with a huge amount of extra features, but what it does provide are very nicely integrated into game play. The first of its features is the wild symbol, which is represented by the game’s logo. This, like all other wilds, will substitute for any other icons on the reel, with the exception of scatters, in order to form a winning combination. Should you manage to spin five of these in to view, you’ll be on the receiving end of a maximum pay out of 1,000 coins. Multiple wild symbols on each of the reels will line up to form stacked wilds, offering greater chances of forming wins.

And, in addition to this icon, there’s also a scatter symbol. This is represented by the 80s girl, with a pink streak through her blonde hair, layers of make up adorning her face and large, dangling earrings. Three of these making an appearance in any location on the reels will pay out your total bet placed multiplied by two. And not only that, but they’ll also trigger the freespins round, which gives you an initial amount of five to go at. Freespin wins will pay out double as well, and if you manage to spin three scatters during this round, you’ll be rewarded with a further five freespins.

      Totally Tubular!

Of the three games in this series, we enjoy the 80s offering the most. We’re not really sure why, as it doesn’t differ so hugely to the others available, but perhaps it has to do with it being our favourite era in history. In any event, the game plays out as a fairly standard offering, but with a couple of additional features to make it a little more entertaining for its players.
