Pharoah’s Fortune Slot Review

I wonder just how many slot games there are with an Egyptian theme. Well, here’s another one from Microgaming but this time there’s just the three reels and a single pay-line to try and get some wins on.

It’s a colourful looking game but not one that has sophisticated graphics like the five-reel releases from this company. It’s still an entertaining game to play though with some good wins available.

Egyptian Delight

With this being a three-reel game, it means there are a few differences between this and the five-reel ones that you are probably used to playing. This is a more simple game to play and there’s no bonus game to try and trigger. Also there’s no wild or scatter symbol.

All the action is shown on the one screen, so no second screens here. Even though we have the reels, game logo and paytable on the one screen, it doesn’t look at all cluttered.

The look of this game is a colourful one. We get the Pharoah’s Fortune logo in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. It’s in gold on a blue background that has Egyptian hieroglyphics that fit in perfectly with the theme. Perhaps the view of a pyramid or an Egyptian mummy might have been better but what we do get looks good.

Pyramid Prizes

When it comes to the symbols in this game, there are three that are theme-related which is pretty good for these kind of games. Normally it’s just one or two so we’re getting a treat here. The top paying symbol is the sarcophagus, then there’s the pyramid and the scarab beetle. You can argue actually that all the symbols are theme-related as the single, double and triple bars are shown as gold bars.

Triple Time

As is often the case in these three-reel games, you have a couple of choices to make before spinning the reels. First of all, you need to be choosing the size of the coin you want to play. Setting your stake is easy, just use the +/- button to choose how much you want to put on. In this game, that’s between  €0.25 and €5. In order to have a chance of winning the top prize in this game, you need to be playing three coins. That’s the maximum number you can play so the minimum you’ll be spending is €0.75 and the maximum €15.

So what’s the most you can win in Pharoah’s Fortune? Well, if you do decide to play all three coins, you’ll win 2500x your coin stake if three of the sarcophagus symbols end up on the single pay-line. That means you could get €12,500 if playing at the maximum level. There is the incentive to be playing three coins as the top win with one coin is 500x and with two coins 1000x, then there’s that big jump to 2500x.

There are still some other good wins to be had in this game. Three pyramids win you either 80x, 160x or 240x and if a trio of any mixture of the top two paying symbols end up on the pay-line it’s either 40x, 80x or 120x.

When it comes to deciding how many coins to play then it’s also an easy task. All you have to do is press Bet One to set either one or two coins or plunge in at the deep end and use Bet Max to play all three.

You have the choice of playing this game in regular or expert mode. There’s not much difference really apart from being able to utilize an autoplay feature in expert mode. Final Words

A fairly standard slot from Microgaming. It’ll remind players of a certain age what three-reel games were like in the good old days. Other players might be disappointed at the lack of a bonus game and not even a wild symbol. There are still some good prizes to go for so it’s definitely worth a play.
