Cabin Fever Slot Review

You might not be sure what to expect from the title of this slot from Microgaming.  It most certainly has nothing to do with a certain movie that features a fair few murders. Instead we have a game that features some really cute looking animals who aren’t doing what they’re supposed to be.

What are they supposed to be doing? Well it’s hibernation time but this group of animals seem more interesting on eating and partying. It’s a game that is obviously going to appeal to those of you who love a bit of cartoon fun on telly. You know what it’s like, the idea is you sit with your children as they enjoy some cartoons but you sit there enjoying it just as much as the youngsters. This really does have a cartoonish look to it which is no bad thing in my view. It just adds to the fun of playing a game and if some wins come your way then all the better.

‘Cabin Fever’ has a total of five reels, three rows of symbols and a total of 20 pay-lines. The minimum cost of activating all those pay-lines works out at €0.20 and the maximum cost per spin is €100.

The high value symbols are the various animals enjoying themselves when they are supposed to be fast asleep. It’s a bit like a load of children messing about in their bedroom when they should be getting some sleep ready for school tomorrow. There’s a bear that seems to be enjoying a beer in a hot tub, a female one on the phone, a squirrel using some ice cubes as drums and another squirrel guarding their nuts.

It may be hibernation time (not that the animals seem to be up for that one bit), but it seems there’s a bit of a thaw going on judging by the look of the fruit symbols.  There’s melting ice dripping down from the cherries, oranges, melons, lemon and plums. It’s not just good to see the fruit back in a slot game but to be involved with the theme of the game is a nice touch.

They must have run out of ideas when it came to the wild symbol. Rather than another cute animal we simply end up with a big ‘Wild’ symbol. It may not be the most exciting looking symbol of the year but it will help get you some good wins as it substitutes for other symbols apart from one. The scatter symbol is the sun symbol that’s wearing a scarf!

Free Spins Aplenty

If you can get at least three of the scarf-wearing sun scatter symbols on the first and fifth reels, then you will receive 20 free spins. They can be anywhere on those two reels so that means you don’t have to be activating lots of pay-lines all the time. Gamble or Stick?

The game also includes a gamble feature. When you get a win in the base game there’s the chance to try and increase your winnings.  You can carry onto the next spin of the reels if you want too but if going for the gamble, it’s the playing cards game again. Guess correctly the colour of the next card to double your win. However, if you get it wrong then your win disappears completely so always be careful with this. Final Opinion

This is a really enjoyable game to play. The game has a cute cartoonish look to it and it’s good to see the fruit involved in the theme. It’s not too hard to trigger the bonus game and it can be a profitable one. Be careful with the gamble feature though and keep those wins not lose them.
