If you’re looking for a hero then this is a slot game that’s absolutely packed with them. There’s a distince Oriental martial arts theme going on here and in this Microgaming slot there are ample opportunities to get some great wins.

‘108 Heroes’ has five reels and three rows of symbols. In all there are 15 pay-lines for you to hopefully win some money playing on. It’s not a fixed amont so just how many  of those pay-lines you play is entirely your choice. If you want just activate one of the pay-lines or play them all at the minimum coin range and wager just  €0.15 on each spin of the reels.

Heroes to the Rescue

The symbols in this game are really well designed. The grid itself has a background of cherry blossoms and a variety of trees. The soundtrack is suitably oriental and won’t have you reaching to switch it off unless having a really long session.

All the control buttons for the game are down at the bottom of the screen. No problems finding them and it’s easy to play this game. There’s an autoplay feature so if you want a break from the screen or just don’t want to be pressing the spin button all night, you’ll love that. You can set it for 10x, 25x, 50x or 100x or set your own figure. That way you can get the autoplays to stop when a certain sized win comes along. The autoplays will also stop after the bonus round has been activated.

The well designed symbols include a collection of warriors all looking rather fearsome even the female geisha who looks quite handy with her sword. There’s also the Queen, King and Ace playing card symbols. Look out for the hero in golden armour because five of those on an activated pay-line pays 2500x your line bet as does the one in a blue headdress, so handy wins there. The one who hasn’t got a shirt can get you some good wins too paying 1250x if five pop up for you.

Look Out For That Wild

None of the heroes get to be the wild symbol in this game. That honour goes to the 108 Heroes logo. This is the symbol that can really get your account ticking over nicely. It can substitute for other symbols to get you wins and if five appear on an activated pay-line that will pay you 37,500x your line bet so pray that one comes along. It’s not able to substitute for the treasure chest or the Chinese symbol which is the scatter here and five of those anywhere on the reels pays 4000x your total bet.

Begin the Treasure Hunt

If you can get three of the treasure hunt symbols on an active pay-line then that’s gets you into the King’s Treasure Bonus Game. You’re transported to an island and on the left hand side of the screen is an old Chinese man trying to keep cool as he waves his fan. This is a simple pick ’em game with the chance to open treasure chests to reveal a win. How many picks you get depends on how many treasure chests triggered the bonus round. This can be fairly profitable so well worth triggering and that can be achieved during the free spins round too.

Three or more of the Chinese letter scatter symbols trigger the free spins round. You get ten of them and any wins you get during those free spins are tripled. It’s also possible to re-trigger the free spins if the scatters appear on the reels again.

Final Words

Another impressive slot from Microgaming. It has a really good look to it which I think is always important. The theme is a good one and well adhered to with just the three playing card symbols. There are some good wins available and having two bonus rounds is always helpful. Definitely recommended.
