Secret of the Mermaid Slot Review

Mermaids today are depicted in many children’s story books as fantasy, but once the story of mermaids was a tale based solely in mythology. For thousands of years, mermaids have been a feature of folklore tales, depicted as both the beautiful friendly creatures we think of them to be today and evil creatures that were responsible for causing devastation in the seas from bringing about storms to crashing ships. Exploring the friendlier side of mermaid folklore is one of the newest online casino games by well-known developer, Konami.

The free Secret of the Mermaid slot focuses on the wealth of the mermaid’s home in a water themed slot that takes players on an undersea adventure to meet some very friendly ocean-dwellers. Over a 30 payline, gamblers have 5 reels and 3 rows of underwater action to experience and with one of the friendliest mermaids around ready to guide the way to massive hordes of treasure, this online slot could be a very worthwhile spin.

Diamond Delivering Dolphins

Secret of the Mermaid takes inspiration from the mermaid stories of old, with the mermaids present in this online gambling game being incredibly beautiful and very helpful to travellers that are after the treasures of the ocean. The mermaid herself takes the prime spot as the highest paying symbol in the base pay table, offering wins of up to 200x the line bet. At a low limit bet level of 45 coins and a high limit bet level of 22500 coins, the mermaids can bring in substantially large payouts.

The mermaid isn’t alone in this underwater paradise, there are 4 more themed symbols in the pay table to keep her company. The second most valuable is a dolphin that players are definitely going to want to befriend as wherever he goes, treasure is sure to be found. Mystical underwater treasure made of the finest gold can also be reeled up along with some extremely colourful seashells. With the background of this online slot featuring a glorious temple, it is certain that there are even more treasures to be found in the bonus game feature offerings.

Hidden Treasure of Atlantis?

The bonus features in the free Secret of the Mermaid video slot all take the form of glistening gems that come in a multitude of colours, with the scatter symbols also featuring the image of a mermaid. There are two main bonus symbols, both of which players will recognise as the standard scatter symbols and wild symbols. With the wild symbols, the bonus element is quite easy to get to grips with, with the symbols appearing on reels 2 to 4 and having the ability to complete a win line with any other symbol set except the scatter symbols.

The pink gem scatter symbols will appear on all the reels, but only when at least 3 are on a win line will the free games be awarded. There are between 8 and 20 free spins on offer, for players who land between 3 and 5 scatter symbols at once. During the free spins, the wild symbols transform into multiplier symbols that add between a 2x and 5x multiplier to a win, depending on which reels they land on. Landing a 5x multiplier could provide punters with a top cash-out.

Make Sure You Can Swim

Exploring some of the most iconic symbols of China, this medium to high variance slot offers up free spins and up to a 5x multiplier, a game that is easy to compare to Secret of the Mermaid.
