Captain Payback Slot Review

And we desperately need that, especially having been force fed Marvel and DC games for years. This amusement with prizes has an old school quality, which we find surprising given that we’re playing software by High 5 Games, a brand known for 3D graphics.

The 5 reels and 50 win lines take on a very typical approach, everything’s just so, there’s no quirks or special features that make this game tick. Not that it means that there’s no variance what so ever, just that the variety is on the expected and predictable side. Still, as we’re still at the beginning of our journey, maybe we should give this free online slot a chance.

Oh, My Captain!

If you want the very best that this town has to offer – that’s the Captain himself – then you need to activate the free spins. To do this you’ll need to line up over three of the scatter icon, which happens to be this superhero’s logo. The thing is, while players are dealing with a theoretical 96% RTP, there’s still some volatility to wade through if you’re to get the goods. Chiefly, you need to get these symbols on the last three reels of the grid. Assuming you can manage to do that, aka you have the funds to do so, you’ll be gifted 5 free games, a sum which can’t be added to during the course of the feature. A little disappointing for a flashy hero, no? Anyway, you then have the knowledge that there’s a new set of reels to engage with, which means an additional pay table. However, the information doesn’t make clear which is which, and so confusion will reign when it comes to this game feature.

Nabbing the Bad Guy

Another of the Captain Payback’s bonus offers available is that of the Capture Bonus, which in turn leads into the Jackpot Bonus. This sounds exciting indeed – high variance mixed in with getting those bad guys, but wait, there’s a little problem here: the pay table is rubbish at explaining the mini game. We have no clue why High 5 Games have made their information so… pointless… but they may as well not included any info at all, such is its usefulness. From what we can understand, you need to capture three or more of the bad guys on an active win line; as there’s 50 of those, it shouldn’t prove too tedious. Once you’ve done that you’ll then be taken through to the Jackpot Bonus, where there’s several tiers of potential prizes to work through.

Totally and Utterly Amazing

So you want to be a high roller, you want to walk away with as much cash as possible? Well then, you’ll have to play a few more games than just the Captain Payback video slot; it’s good, but it’s unlikely to make you rich. We’d suggest playing the mobile-optimised, 3D graphics extravaganza that is Amazing Heroes, a slot from Daub that seems to live up to its name. Sure, it has half the amount of win lines, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an array of features to gift to you: there’s free spins, interactive bonus rounds, and so much more. All for a measly punt of 0.25 coins, which is cheaper than Captain Payback.

Time for Payback

Let’s face it, Captain Payback isn’t the one of the latest releases to grace our computer, it is in fact a more senior title looking to attractive some gamers. And it does that pretty well. However, while this game can survive with the odd punter or two, it’ll never stand the test of time with such bland bonuses on offer. We expected more meat on its bones, but this game proved mundane and unexciting. Such a shame, as it seemed so start off well.
