Overall, we found the user experience to be pretty solid. Everything was easily accessible and there was no lag with the game when we tested it out. All the functions that you needed to play with were right in front of you.

Unfortunately, while Book of Dead does have great perks like a robust user experience, stunning visuals and audio, and a decently exciting bonus round, it still falls short when it comes to the in-game features.

Aside from the bonus round, there’s not much else you can expect. You do have the expanding symbols as well as the autoplay option.

However, when you compare the Book of Dead slot’s features to other slots available at your local online casino, the in-game features don’t tend to match up. 

Therefore, while we had a great time playing Book of Dead, we still found ourselves wanting more.

Even though there were no bonus round multipliers nor was there a progressive jackpot, the payouts were still pretty solid. With an RTP of 96.21%, we found ourselves winning back most of our wagers and then some.

Yes, because of the high volatility, we weren’t always consistently hitting paylines. However, with such large multipliers for winning symbols, when we did hit a payline, it paid out pretty well.

One thing that is worth noting, though, is that even though we were able to make our money back, hitting paylines took some time. Thus, be prepared to reload, especially if you’re playing high-stakes slots.

Where the Book of Dead slot really excelled was in the sounds and visuals department. The visuals themselves were extremely detailed. 

For one, the background of the slot is an ancient palace with pillars that have hieroglyphs written on them. The plainer deck-based symbols still have some beauty to them, with golden edges lining each symbol.

As for the higher-valued symbols, each symbol is so intricately drawn, they bear an uncanny resemblance to real-life figures and objects.

There are also plenty of sounds that come with the slot. For one, the background music is extremely upbeat and reminiscent of any movie with Ancient Egypt in it.

To add onto this, there are sounds for just about any action, whether it’s winning a payline, spinning the reels, or clicking a button. This allows for an immersive audio experience that makes you feel like you’re actually in Egypt.

Overall, the design team did a great job on the audio and visuals for the Book of Dead slot. Largely thanks to this area, it’s extremely easy to play for hours without realizing.
