Come down to the fruit farm and buy as much as you like. There’s enough to go around for everyone, so take a casual stroll through the stalls and pick up what you want! This product from Novomatic gives you the sense of attending a Saturday market, where traders will sell you anything from prime cuts of beef to the juiciest and freshest strawberries. As such, this game is set against a backdrop of tractors, windmills and barns, while a welcoming farmer stands to the left of the reels, apparently ready to assist you in your needs. Unfortunately, this game didn’t escape a mauling from the developer’s awful intent to put their arcade music in all their products, so if you’re able to play a game with the mute settings in place, then do proceed on to the Fruit Farm!
What Occurs at a Fruit Farm?
This game offers up a layout of five reels and three rows, thereby giving players a fairly well-known interface to play on. The icons incorporated into these reels have very beautiful designs, providing an ultimately 3D experience, rather than the flattened 2-dimensional icons of many others. These are all relative to farming, so you’ll find some animals taking pride of place there, including sheep, cows, pigs and turkeys, all of which seem very happy to be making appearances. Furthermore, this wouldn’t be an aptly titled game if there weren’t any pieces of fruit showing up, so there’s the addition of plums, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, apples and grapes all available to spin through.
The developer has also added 10 separate pay lines to the game as well, all of which are able to be customised to suit your own needs. The bet you are able to place per active line is also alterable, starting at the minimum of $0.04 and increasing up to the maximum of $10. Should you have all of these items maxed out, you’ll be able to place an overall wager of $100 per round. In addition, you’ll have the option of utilising the ‘Autoplay’ button, which allows you to consecutively spin the reels at a set wager amount.
Hitch a Ride on the Tractor!
The selling point of many games is the quality and amount of special features included within. For Fruit Farm, you’ll find one or two additions which are sure to impress. In the first instance, the symbol of the farmer himself provides the game with its wild icon. This will substitute for all other icons, except scatters, and when it is included in a win, it will double the pay out. Should you spin five of these on an active pay line, you’ll be rewarded with a pay out of up to $90,000.
In addition, there’s a scatter icon included, which is represented by the tractor symbol. Spinning five of these anywhere on the reels offers up a maximum pay out of $50,000, and should you spin three or more, you’ll trigger the freespins round. A total of 15 will be awarded to you, and the round will feature a multiplier of times three. Freespins can also be won again during the round.
A gamble feature has also been added to the game, and this is triggered after every winning combination formed in the base game. This specific feature allows you the opportunity to increase your winnings in a side game, which requires you to guess the colour of the next turned over playing card. Should you pick the right colour, you’ll double the winnings you’ve earned. However, be careful, as an incorrect guess will ensure that you lose everything.
The Crops are Ready for Reaping!
It’s not a very frequent occurrence for us to be able to say that the soundtrack installed by Novomatic into one of its games doesn’t bother us. Normally, we’d be all out to strangle the developer for their insistence on that arcade drone being included. However, there are enough fun icons and special features included in this game for us to not be too bothered by it. Of course, a more country/farm sounding approach would have been nicer, but all in all, Fruit Farm is one of the better products on offer from them.
