Fruitopia
The temptation to create more and more fruit-based slot game is strong, given how popular these are amongst gamblers. The Merkur team was simply unable to resist it when they designed Fruitopia, a video slot game with the most classic theme and settings you can think of.

The temptation to create more and more fruit-based slot game is strong, given how popular these are amongst gamblers. The Merkur team was simply unable to resist it when they designed Fruitopia, a video slot game with the most classic theme and settings you can think of.
On a simple 5×3 layout, players get to play with the most common reel symbols ever designed. The volatility is average and Fruitopia is hiding a handful of very useful features that can help you boost your gains and make each spin worth your time. The best way to get to know the game a little better before you place your first few bets is to read our full review of Fruitopia right here.
Fresh and Bright
Fruitopia is a fresh and crisp game with good graphics, but nothing too impressive or original overall. The colourful reel symbols are spinning on a deep red background, with drops of water scattered all around.
Apart from that, Fruitopia is equipped with the classic Merkur command bar at the bottom, as minimalist as ever, and a metallic frame runs all around the reels. If you are looking for originality and impressive graphics, Fruitopia is clearly not the place to go. But the game might have some surprises in terms of gameplay that are yet to be discovered.
Spin the Reels and Get Ready to Win
Fruitopia has a clear advantage on the competition: a simple set of rules that will let any player start betting right away. The game features 5 reels and just as many paylines, which you can activate at will with the plus and minus buttons in the corner. Bet from 0.05 to 10 credits per turn and spin the reels manually or use the autostart game mode to speed up the process altogether.
Each win on the reels activates two optional mini games: the card challenge and the win ladder. You can choose to play either of them to take a risk and perhaps increase your payout, or you can pocket your reward directly and walk away.
On the paytable of Fruitopia, you will find only ultra-classic fruit symbols: cherries, lemons, plums and more with a maximum reward of x200 available in the base game. Thanks to its medium volatility, Fruitopia is rather balanced and you are just as likely to win big or settle for a small prize at every single spin. We had fun using the double-up games to win even more, which is always a thrilling option. Talking about thrills, Fruitopia has a few more surprises that we need to talk about.
Random Multipliers to the Rescue
The most useful symbol in Fruitopia is the joker, which obviously plays the role of the wild card here. Use it to substitute for the fruits wherever it appears and you will boost your chances to score a big cash prize even further. Joker combinations can also be worth up to x1000 on their own.
Each win on the reels of Fruitopia can also trigger a random multiplier, from x2 to x7. You never know when a multiplier will be awarded, and this simple but generous trick really adds something to the otherwise very basic gameplay. Jokers and multipliers are not that rare in Fruitopia at all, and we managed to score quite a few of both when we tested the game ourselves.
A Strong Feeling of Deja-Vu
Fruitopia is one more addition to the long series of fruit-themed slot games that is omnipresent on the current market. The game is fun enough to play, especially thanks to its generous joker and random multipliers, but in no way original or really challenging. The 96.01% RTP of the game places it on the average of modern slots as well.
If you enjoyed Fruitopia’s gameplay but are still looking for something a little more original, try Microgaming’s Winning Wizard and add a little magic to your routine.
