If you’re not familiar with the Titans, then allow us to enlighten you on such. They were members of the second order of divine beings in Classical Greek mythology, and they descended from the primordial deities. Based on Mount Othrys, the Titans were most famously known as being the first twelve children of the primordial Gaia – Mother Earth – and Uranus – Father Sky. Among this first generation of Titans were the females Rhea, Tethys, Phoebe and Themis, as well as the male children, Coeus, Crius, Oceanus and the titular character of this game, Hyperion. As such, you’ll get to experience the life of Hyperion by spinning the reels of this game, which are set against a backdrop of Ancient Greek buildings and scenery. It’s unfortunate that Microgaming decided to include their generic casino noises into the game, because it would really benefit from something a bit more thematic. However, as far as its graphics are concerned, it contains very high quality imagery and game play.

When you load the game up, you’ll find that it’s presented on a five reel and three row interface. This should be a fairly familiar layout to regular video slot gamers, and it’s within these reels that you’ll find the game’s various different icons. These start with the frequently seen A, J, K, Q and 10 symbols, again providing a familiar offering. These are joined by three different additional and more thematic icons, which are present in the shape of a red hot flaming phoenix, a white horse with fiery mane and tail hair, and finally, the shot of Hyperion himself.

This game provides a great theme, so you’ll find that there are also some wonderful special features included alongside it. These begin with the wild symbol, which is represented by the game’s logo, and as a wild symbol it will substitute for all others on the reels, with the exception of the scatter icon. If five of the wilds show up on a winning pay line, you stand the chance of winning up to a maximum pay out of 50,000 coins.

The game’s scatter symbol is represented by the male and female gods floating in the sky. As scatter icons, these will pay out wherever they show up on the reels, and they multiply your total wager by a specific amount. If five come in to view, you’re able to receive a maximum pay out of 15,000 coins. Whenever three or more show up, you’ll receive a total of 15 freespins, and freespins can be re-triggered during the round.

One feature that you’ll see while spinning the reels of the main game is the ‘Stacked Mystery Symbols’. This game presents players with a very nicely themed product, taking on the task of offering up icons based on Ancient Greek mythology, and doing so in a very high quality way. The special features included are nicely integrated, especially the unique mystery symbols, it’s just a bit of a shame that Microgaming couldn’t come up with a more appropriate piece of music to add to it as well. However, this aside, it’s a well designed and very playable game.
