Give a big cheer for Jungle Jim, the hero of this Microgaming slot. You’ll definitely be cheering if he can get you some big wins, especially in the bonus game though you need some help from an unlikely source.

Now I’ve never actually found myself in a jungle to be honest but I’ve seen a certain telly show. Therefore, all I can really say is be careful because it’s a jungle out there you know.

Our Hero

Jungle Jim certainly looks like your average kind of hero. He’s got a square jaw and a pair of teeth that probably glow in the dark. He’s a brave guy is our Jim and he thinks nothing of going into the darkest jungle but whether he’d eat a kangaroo’s testicles isn’t clear.

There are 15 pay-lines available in this slot game on its five reels and three rows of cartoonish symbols. There’s not much of a backdrop to the game but we can see a little bit of the jungle poking out at the side of the reels. Playing the game will cost you between €0.15 for activating all the pay-lines and €150. That’s a range that should allow everyone to be able to play this game at a level they are entirely comfortable with.

The symbols include Jungle Jim of course, a man-eating plant (watch out Jim!), a piranha fish, a purple spider, a snake, an elderly professor and an attractive female assistant who probably has the hots for our hero. At least all the symbols are theme-related which is good to see. They are presented in a cartoonish manner which is no problem as far as I’m concerned as they all look really easy on the eye.

Wild in the Jungle

The wild symbol here is the view of the jungle and you’ll be delighted when this makes an appearance. That’s because of its amazing ability to substitute for other symbols in this game. That’s a sure-fire way of getting some winning combinations you wouldn’t otherwise have if the wild didn’t show up. See it’s not always dangerous when something wild appears in the jungle. It’s unable to sub for two of the symbols, namely the crocodile which is a bonus symbol and the spear which is the scatter. I’d certainly scatter if I saw a spear heading my way in the jungle.

Make sure you read the paytable because that has lots of important information about this game. That includes how much each winning combination pays, for example, five of the wild symbols on an activated pay-line will see you win 4000x your line bet.  Five of the Jungle Jim symbols wins you 1500x your line bet and five of the professor symbols pays you a useful 750x your line bet, so good luck with those.

Snappy Crocodile Bonus

No one ever moans about some free spins and that’s what is available in this game. To get some you need to get at least three of the crocodile bonus symbols on an active pay-line. That does of course encourage you to keep activating as many pay-lines as possible, just keep an eye on your budget.

When this is activated you’ll see a second screen that has five brightly-coloured crocodiles. Now don’t get scared by this vision because these crocodiles decide just how many free spins you are going to be playing with as you simply choose one of them.  There’s up to ten free spins to be awarded and if your luck is in then you could be playing with a 5x multiplier. That all makes for a very lucrative bonus round if you can pile up the free spins and multiplier. Sadly, it’s not possible to re-trigger the free spins.

Final View

Another impressive release from Microgaming. The theme is a good one, the cartoonish symbols easy on the eye and there are some big wins available, especially in the bonus game.
