Bridesmaids Slot Review

If you’re not aware, Bridesmaids is a 2011 American romantic comedy film starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Ellie Kemper and Wendi McLendon-Covey. It takes a whole load of twists and turns, featuring many hilarious moments and, eventually, finishing on a happy ending, as most of these films do. It received critical acclaim upon its release, which is quite possibly why Microgaming decided to craft a game based on it. Therefore, while the reels are filled with icons of all the different characters dressed in their best bridesmaids gowns, there is quite an over abundance of pink colours splashed across the screen. It’s a little bit unfortunate that the developer has decided to integrate a sub-standard piece of music into the background, which is the sound of casino games ringing and people talking. A product of this one’s standing deserves a little better than that. However, on the whole, it’s a well-constructed game, providing plentiful entertainment.

Character Profiles

The game has been designed with a layout of five reels and three rows, ensuring that it offers up a familiar interface to gamers. On these reels, you’ll find icons which relate to the general theme of bridesmaids, such as cupcakes with fancy icing, and these are accompanied by differently coloured symbols of playing card suits. Of course, this game wouldn’t be the same without the various different main characters from the film, so you’ll find symbols of Wiig portraying Annie Walker, Rudolph as Lillian Donovan, Byrne as Helen Harris III, McCarthy as Megan Price, McLendon-Covey as Rita, and Kemper as Becca. Of course, if you’ve seen the movie, these icons will provide you with flashbacks of it, which can only result in a smile coming to your face.

As far as the remainder of the layout goes, Microgaming have incorporated 40 separate pay lines into it. These have been fixed in place, meaning that therefore, you cannot customise them in any way. However, you do have the chance to change your bet around per spin, which is done in the ‘Bet’ box. If you press the upwards facing arrows, you’ll be given the chance to change the coin size, which has a range of between $0.01 and $0.20 per pay line. Then, you can choose to have between one and 15 of these coins active per line, which will therefore offer you up the chance of placing a maximum overall wager of $120 per round.

Always a Bridesmaid, Never the Bride!

There are a few different special features included in this game, which really give it a nice edge over many other video slots available today. The first of these is in relation to the scatter symbol, which is represented by the previously noted cupcake. These offer up pay outs wherever they show up on the reels, but if you manage to spin three or more into view, you’ll trigger what the game calls its ‘Wheel Bonus’ round. If you manage to get five of these to show up across the reels, you’ll be rewarded with a maximum pay out of 12,000 coins.

The wheel bonus round provides you with a chance to spin the wheel of fortune, and from this, you can win one of two freespins rounds, one of two bonus rounds or a jackpot prize. There’s also the chance of winning a cupcake booster, which requires you to select a cupcake in order to win one of the following prizes:

• Multiplier to increase all pink cash prizes
• Multiplier to increase all blue cash prizes
• Multiplier to increase all wheel cash prizes
• The addition of two extra wheel pointers

As far as the added freespins rounds go, these are divided in to ‘Friendship Free Spins’ and ‘Flying High Free Spins’. Each of these offers up a total of 10 freespins, with the first of them offering up win both ways and stacked character symbols across the reels, as well as an extra wild in one of the character icons. The latter of these features rolling reels and growing wilds, and the rolling reels are able to provide multiple consecutive wins. The growing wild stacks increase by a single wild per spin to a maximum of 13 stacks.

Finally, the two bonus rounds are the ‘Boutique’ and ‘Magic Moments’ features. The first requires you to match the bridesmaids to win cash prizes and multipliers. Matching the bride will complete the round, with the longer it takes to find her meaning bigger bonus awards. The second bonus round simply sees you selecting photographs of magic moments to win cash prizes, with a carrot being revealed ending the round.

There are also stacked wilds included in both the base game and freespins rounds.
