Imperial Wars Slot Review
Are you ready for battle? If you come out fighting you can earn yourself some fantastic rewards as part of Napoleon Bonaparte’s revolution, so polish your favourite sword and slip into your most comfortable body armour as it’s time to take part in the Imperial Wars!
This slot game from EGT features 20 paylines to sink your teeth into, as well as a Free Spins round which features Locked Wilds for extra prize-winning potential. And the good folk at EGT have even included their legendary Jackpot Cards feature too; what a generous bunch!
The action may feel a little stale compared to some of the all-singing, all-dancing slot titles that are out there at the moment, but scratch beneath the surface and you will find that Imperial Wars contains everything you need for a quality slot gaming experience!
Imperial Army
If you’ve played a slot game or two in the past you will be familiar with Imperial Wars’ symbol set up: playing cards at the bottom of the pay scale, a selection of “character” icons paying some more lucrative prizes and then bringing home the biggest slice of bacon are the wild and scatter.
As ever, players are looking to match three or more (in most cases) on a payline to win the relevant prize, and these are rewarded in the following ways. Let battle commence!
The Ten, Jack and Queen earn 5 coins, 20 coins and 100 coins for spinning three, four or five on adjacent reels, while the King and Ace deliver prizes of 10 coins for three, 25 coins for four and 150 coins for five.
And then we’re into the nitty gritty of Imperial Wars. First up are the noble Infantrymen, and these hardy souls reward players with 10 coins, 50 coins and 200 coins for their endeavours. Should the War Ship sail into view on your reels then you will earn 10 coins for a trio, 50 coins for a quadruple and 250 coins for the full quintuple set.
The top two in Imperial Wars are the famous couple: Napoleon Bonaparte and his lover Josephine. She’s up first and is obviously in a good mood as she’s handing out prizes of 15 coins, 100 coins and 500 coins for matching three through to five. And finally the main man himself, Napoleon, who is in generous spirits despite his vertically challenged nature. Spin three of this fearless leader and you’ll earn 15 coins, four pays 150 coins while the full five returns 1,250 coins.
Unsatisfied with your win? Not to worry: you can gamble any win under 700 coins for the chance to double up. Simply guess the colour of a playing card correctly to prosper.
Fire That Cannon
As mentioned, there are wilds and scatters to unveil here too. The wild is that famous Parisian landmark, the Arc de Triomphe, and this earns 25 coins, 200 coins and 2,000 coins for the usual denominations. This wild will also substitute for all other main game symbols, bar the scatter, for extra wins.
The scatter in Imperial Wars is the Cannon, and this will appear on your three left-most reels (1, 2 and 3) in the main game only. Spin just two or more of this little cracker to trigger the Free Spins round.
Players will be handed either three (for matching two scatters) or five (for three scatters) freebies in this feature, with Locked Wilds – where any triggering scatters are transformed into wilds – expanding on your reel. These also substitute for all other symbols apart from a newbie which appears in this feature only: the Extra Spin Pharaoh.
Each reveal of the Extra Spin Pharaoh on reel 5 will add another freebie to your collection; so get set for some decent payouts if you are lucky enough to trigger the Free Spins round.
What with all this and EGT’s flagship Jackpot Cards round to behold (you can win one of four progressive jackpots here with no minimum triggering requirements), it’s no wonder that Imperial Wars has stood the test of time as a slot game for the ages. There’s something for all players to enjoy here, so draw your sword and get ready to battle it out for the big prizes.
