There have been many sightings of Elvis Presley over the last 40 years. Now it appears the mystery has been solved, he’s to be seen here on a boat singing his greatest hits. That might shock you but a bigger surprise is if you win the top prize in ‘Rock the Boat’ from Microgaming.

It’s a rather strange theme for a slot game to be honest. Who on earth sits down and thinks, let’s have a boat with Elvis on and a lighthouse in the background? I’ll have what they’re having! At the time Elvis was starting his career, he must have played in a fair few venues that had a fruit machine somewhere on the premises. They used to be here, there and everywhere and just as the career of Elvis Presley spread to the UK, unlike him fruit machines crossed the Atlantic and could be seen all over the land.

Another Elvis Hit

Just why Elvis is on a boat is never actually explained to us. Perhaps his tour coach broke down or he was playing a charity concert at the lighthouse. It gives a rather unique look to the game though and he can be seen in all his glory in the bottom left-hand side of the screen underneath the all-important reels. The legendary singer is playing a dangerous game though as he stands up in the boat to belt out another big hit. We do get something on the soundtrack resembling ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ which adds to the theme of the game.

The reels are in the top-left hand corner of the screen. This being a three-reel game they are rather basic, nowhere near as complicated as the symbols that Microgaming produce for their five-reel games.

The symbols include a bar, double bar and triple bar. The lowest paying symbol is the guitar, there’s also the lighthouse and of course Elvis. He’s not just the highest paying symbol in ‘Rock the Boat’ but also the wild symbol. That means he can substitute for all other symbols to help get you some handy winning combinations. If one Elvis wild creates a winning combination that win is doubled. If it’s two that do the trick, then that win is quadrupled so keep an eye out for it and hope that Elvis hasn’t left the building.

Elvis Hits the Jackpot

The top win in this game is 1600x your coin stake but to get that you have to be playing both coins on that spin of the reels. If you’re playing just one it’s just 800x your coin stake you’ll win, still a great win and hardly likely to put you in ‘Heartbreak Hotel.’

It’s a little bit disappointing though because with some of these Microgaming three-slot games, the top prize is higher than double the win for playing with a single coin. That’s not the case here unlike in games such as ‘Jingle Bells.’

The minimum stake in this game if you want to be able to win the top prize is €0.50 and the maximum stake per spin of the reels is €100. Just work out how much you can afford to play and don’t gamble anything you can’t afford to lose because the last thing you want to happen is to end up ‘In the Ghetto.’

If you can get one of the guitar symbols on the pay-line, that wins you either 2x or 4x your coin stake. Higher prizes include 50x or 100x for three triple bars and 100x or 200x for three lighthouses.

It’s an easy game to play with all the control buttons down the bottom of the screen. You can choose your coin stake with ease and then decide whether to bet one coin by pressing ‘Bet One’ or pressing the ‘Bet Max’ to play with both.

The theme is a rather strange one for sure but it’s an entertaining game to play. It looks and sounds good and there are some good wins to be had, so recommended despite the lack of a bonus game.
