Here’s a game that can set some fireworks off if those big wins start coming your way. It’s simply a case of press that spin button, stand back, cross your fingers and hope that the reels will be kind to you and increase your account balance.
It’s another entertaining three-reel slot from Microgaming and there are plenty of reasons to totally enjoy playing this game.
Fireworks Guaranteed
Now this game has no connection whatsoever with the classic children’s series ‘Crackerjack’ which is a shame as I used to love a bit of Leslie Crowther and Peter Glaze on a Friday teatime. No sign of winning a Crackerjack pencil either or any cabbages. Now that certainly ages me and it also means I remember the days when slot games used to have three reels and just the one pay-line.
That’s the case in this colourful slot from Microgaming. With it being just a three-slot game it means ‘Cracker Jack’ has a distinct resemblance to the slot machines you’ll see in amusement arcades and your local pub. It’ll certainly bring back memories of the games played in days gone by that were nowhere near as complex as the five-reel games that we regularly play today.
Whereas the five-reel games are dominated by the reels with little room for anything else apart from the control buttons, it’s a different story with the three-reel slot games. The all-important reels are in the top left hand corner of the screen. Underneath that there’s the Cracker Jack logo, an image of the gold coins that you’ll hopefully be winning soon.
The five-reel games have the paytable on a second screen but not so with this format. Instead all the details are on the right-hand side of the screen telling you what all the winning combinations pay. All useful information of course.
It’s a Cracker
The symbols in this game are fairly basic. There’s the fire-cracker, a gold 7, single bars in blue, double bars in red and triple yellow bars. Then there’s the Cracker Jack logo which you’ll be wanting to see plenty of on the reels. That’s because it’s not just the top paying symbol but also the wild symbol in this game.
Having a wild symbol is a nod to the present in what is a retro game. The Cracker Jack logo can substitute for other symbols in the game to get you a winning combination. Even better if one of them appears on the single pay-line that pays either 2x or 4x your coin stake depending on whether you are playing one coin or two. Two wilds pay either 3x or 6x and if three come along, then that’s 10x or 20x.
So, what’s this about one or two coins? Well that’s the choice you have to make when deciding your stake on each spin of the reels. The more you stake, the more your potential winnings. The top prize is three Cracker Jack logos which pays either 2000x or 5000x. All the other wins are doubled if you go for the two coins as your stake apart from the jackpot. This is a handy way of trying to get the player to go for the higher stake, just be careful with your budget. The minimum cost of playing this game is €0.25 and the maximum €100.
It’s an easy game to operate. No problems at all choosing the coin level for each spin. Then simply press the Bet One button to play with one coin or the Bet Max to play with both.
There’s no bonus game in ‘Cracker Jack’ which might put a few of you off. There are very few three-reel slots that do have a bonus game. This is one of those slot games that is ideal for someone who hasn’t got a great deal of experience of playing these games or simply fancy a spell playing a retro game.
Final View
Another entertaining three-reel slot from Microgaming. It’s not much different from others they have produced. Although the game looks attractive enough, the theme isn’t the most exciting to be fair. There are some good wins to be had here and even though there’s no bonus game, at least there’s a wild that can get you some more winning combinations. Worth a play for a short while.
