Therefore, when a slot machine such as this refuses to identify that female players can appreciate football too, we start to run into problems.

We’re not saying women won’t play this title, for if they have a passion for the sport they more than likely will. However, what we are saying is that the interface doesn’t easily accommodate the female gamer. This isn’t because it lacks pink frills or the like, but because the construction feels wholly masculine. You might disagree, and there’s certainly more gendered examples out there, but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to see more progress at a quicker pace.

We’d like to say that this is the first time we’ve felt that way, but it seems to be a conclusion that dogs the brand and all its games. It’s like they get so far and then never push the envelope further. Maybe one day they will, but it won’t be today, and it won’t be with Football.
