With a name like The Great Egypt, we expect good things from this EGT slot machine.

Double It up for Me

The wild is more interesting than usual here, for it has the ability to double up your wins should it substitute icons and create a winning combination. There’s an issue with this though: it doesn’t always work.

The reason for this is that the doubling wild is specific to finding only a single wild among a winning line, rather than having a whole combination of wilds. What this means, apart from the doubling up probably being made easier, is that the simpler of the two options is actually more rewarding.

The Progressive Egyptian Culture

A lot of EGT’s games have what is known as the Jackpot Cards, a jackpot bonus that is based on the Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs, each of the suits having its own sum of cash attached to them.

The black Clubs symbol is the lowest of the jackpots, with the red Diamond being the second, the red Heart the third, and the highest of all the ranks being the black Spade. To see the totals currently at work, and who has won in the past, you need only hover over the counters at the top of the screen. They’re always increasing, normally very rapidly.

The Shining Gem of the Nile

The Great Egypt isn’t the best Egyptian based slot machine there is, there’s just too much missing from the winning formula of substance, aesthetics and usability.

Nevertheless, it is one of EGT’s better online games, and as such it gets a middling ground rating of 3.5 stars.

What lowered the amount wasn’t actually the removal of a bonus round, but that everything is pretty much the same across all EGT titles, meaning that innovation is rather limited. Sometimes going against the grain and introducing something new is just what a gaming brand needs.
