The 3D environment of the game shows an animated leprechauns trying to jump onto moving platforms higher and higher, with a beautiful landscapes of rolling green hills in the background.

The command buttons are placed on the side of the screen, and the game is fully compatible with mobile devices as well. Overall, Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns has a classic yet pleasant atmosphere with one exception: the loud and slightly obnoxious Irish-inspired music playing in the background. You might want to reach to the mute button at some point to be able to concentrate a little.

The Only Way Is Up

Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns is an extremely easy game to play, the first step being choosing a wager with the arrow buttons. You can bet from 0.10 to 2 credits per turn. Each turn consists of 5 jumps, which you can play manually or use the autoplay mode to tell the Leprechaun to keep jumping on his own. Each platform might transport a reward such as a clover, gold coins, a pot of gold or a rainbow.

Each reward triggers a random cash prize comprised between 0.5 and 100 times the value of your total stake – and you can never know how much you can win until you actually reach the item. After 5 jumps, you can choose to either collect your rewards or keep on playing.

Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns is clearly a simple, small-scale game – just like any scratchcard, basically. On the other hand, the Barcrest developers have really made an effort to make it as fun and original as possible.

In the end, Rainbow Riches Leapin’ Leprechauns looks more like an old-school video game than a proper scratchcard, which in our opinion is a huge improvement. We actually had fun playing this refreshing little game, even though the winning possibilities were obviously quite limited.
