Think of Vegas and you instantly think of casinos, poker chips, stacks of cash, champagne and all-night parties. That’s exactly what you’ll get in Viva Las Vegas Classic, minus the party part – you’ll need to provide that yourself. Everything else you need for a good time though is contained within this 5-reel slot from Ash Gaming.
Las Vegas is many things but it isn’t subtle. And Viva Las Vegas Classic is many things but it isn’t subtle either. No, this game is brash, bright and in your face, just as you’d expect of a slot modelled on the world’s most famous gambling spot.
Livin’ Las Vegas Loco
Oh looky here – a slot modelled on Las Vegas. Now there’s something you don’t see every day. Excuse the sarcasm overload, but Ash Gaming haven’t exactly pushed the boat out when it came to brainstorming this one. It ain’t no thing though: Ash Gaming are very capable when it comes to dreaming up slots that are actually fun to play – a novel concept that many developers sadly seem to overlook.
Viva Las Vegas Classic is a 20 payline slot with a line bet that can be set between 0.01 and 10 which, as any maths genius will tell you, makes for a maximum bet of 200 per spin. The best and worst excesses of Sin City are celebrated in a flurry of bright lights, high pitched bleeps and flashing bonuses. It’s just like going to Vegas, but without having to catch the red-eye flight home. In particular, this game revisits the Vegas of the 1950s and 60s, and is equipped with a fitting rock n’ roll soundtrack to match.
Winning in Sin City
Visually, Viva Las Vegas Classic isn’t the sharpest slot Ash Gaming have ever released. It’s by no means an abomination, but it just feels a bit cheap and tacky. In that respect, it’s not so dissimilar from the gaming strip it aims to emulate. Clever Ash Gaming. The Viva Las Vegas Classic logo forms the game’s wild symbol, substituting for all other symbols save for scatter and worth 10,000 for five in a line. It’s always nice to win with wilds, but if you know what’s good for you, you’ll have your sights set firmly on the bonus wheel.
This bonus symbol, marked as a colourful wheel, has the potential to make you a very happy player indeed if it’s feeling generous. Potentially you could win up to 500x your stake on the cash wheel; alternatively the freewheel will dispense up to 30 free spins, with a 10x multiplier attached. There’s more to Viva Las Vegas Classic than wilds and wheels though, because one thing that Ash Gaming can’t be accused of is being miserly when it comes to features.
Live Forever, Roll for Better
Viva Las Vegas Classic also features a suits mini game, which is a playing card game in which the aim is to match 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the same suited cards, a feat that will pay between 50 and 8,000. This simple card game is in keeping with the slot’s theme, and provides plenty of tension as you wait to discover what lies on the other side. Other ways to win include symbols that appear as stacks of poker chips, each of which is worth a random value.
More of the Same
If you want more still out of this game, you got it: Viva Las Vegas Classic also has such features as a reverse function, which allows you to win even when there are no special symbols in view. There’s also a 3-reel slot built into the game, a feature that Ash Gaming have previously tried with great success in Time For a Deal.
Fans of Las Vegas-themed slots should check out Bally’s Quick Hit Las Vegas, which is every bit as fun. If it’s the mere notion of Las Vegas that excites you, take your pick from Big Vegas, Cat in Vegas, Slotty Vegas and scores more, all designed to emulate the thrill of playing on Nevada’s most famous mile.
Take Us to Vegas
It’s not much to look at but Viva Las Vegas Classic is all kinds of awesome to play. Ash Gaming haven’t exactly gotten out of their comfort zone in terms of features here, sticking with options they’ve tried on numerous occasions in the past, but it doesn’t matter: these elements are hugely enjoyable, making for an entertaining and hopefully enriching experience.
