That said, the big difference between the two games is of course the theme and as we’re partial to a bit of medieval slots action, we’re more than happy to see what 5 Knights has to offer in its own right.

The basics are the same not only as Easy Slider, but also just about every NextGen release of this generation, with 25 win lines being the order of the day and a wide range of betting options that can see players staking just a few cents or over a hundred on every single spin. The symbols all match up nicely to the theme, with the shield icon being particularly important as the wild card, although that’s certainly not the only way in which it influences the action.

That is all down to the slider function at the top of the reels. You can place it above any reel you choose and that will cause the shield to become even more important as it will not only expand to cover your entire chosen reel, but also apply a multiplier. The further you slide it along the board, the more the multiplier is worth, with double wins applied on the first reel and six times the prize value on the fifth. The multiplier does of course increase incrementally on the reels in between.

5 Knights also includes a fairly standard free spins round, triggered when three or more castle symbols land in view. That leads to a game consisting of fifteen free spins, all with a two times multiplier, and the full number of spins can be triggered once again within the bonus game itself.

As with several NextGen slots, 5 Knights is solid rather than spectacular although it can certainly be plenty of fun, especially if you’re a fan of the medieval theme.
