      Wild Water Slot Review

If you’re a fan of the 60s and 70s, or better yet, if you were living at this time, Wild Water from Netent has to be one of the best games provided by the developer to cater to you. It incorporates the lifestyle of surfing hippies from the era, and will very readily transport you to the beach to catch a few waves with them. As you park up in your vintage car and step out onto the sandy beach in your swim wear, you’ll hear the crashing of the waves, and there’s a very retro piece of music being played as well, which could make The Beatles envious. Not only that, but the game features vibrant colours, almost enough to bring the psychedelic flavour of the era to life on your screen. So, the only question that remains to be asked is, Are you ready to go surfin’ today? If the answer’s yes, then go right ahead and load Wild Water up, because it’s going to take you one step closer to it.

      Stacked Icons Aplenty

This game offers its players a fairly regular layout of five reels and three rows, so it’s nothing especially new in this area. However, what might come as a nice surprise is the icons included on the reels, which for the most part are stacked. The majority of these are in the form of five different surfing youths, with each one of them decked out in different attire and with different accessories. These include the long-haired man in green beach shorts complete with drum, the yellow-costumed girl with a picnic hamper, and the afro-haired man with yellow shorts and a beach ball. These are completed by the girl in blue with her beach bag and the man dressed in red with his retro wireless radio. A couple of others speciality symbols have also been included on the reels as well.

Alongside the reels and rows, Netent have also included a total of 20 separate pay lines. These have been fixed in place, so gamers cannot customise them in any way. However, the stake you play per round is able to be changed, simply by using the green buttons at either side of the ‘Coin Value’ and ‘Level’ boxes. The former of these has a range between $0.01 and $0.50, while the latter is able to be changed between one and 10. Therefore, anyone pushing these boxes to their highest levels can expect to place a maximum overall wager per round of $100.

      Ready to Surf and Turf

This game has its own specialities in place, which do give it a nice differential to many other slots available online. However, it’s first special feature is that of the wild symbol, which is represented by the vicious looking shark. These wilds will stand in for any other icon on the reels, except for scatters, and are able to show up on any reel in the main game or freespins. And during the freespins round, wilds will automatically expand to cover the entire reel they appear on if contributing to a win.

As far as the aforementioned scatter icon goes, this is represented by the shot of a man surfing. These will pay out anywhere that they appear, and if three or more of them show up, you’ll trigger the freespins round. Three of these icons will give you 15 freespins, while four will provide you with 30. Finally, if you spin five scatter icons, you’ll receive 60 freespins.

There’s also the possibility of dramatically boosting your winnings with the stacked surfer symbols. The first of these boosts is known as the Surf’s Up Bonus. This is rewarded too you when any mix of five surfer symbols appears in full across the reels. So, if you spin two of the yellow costumed girl and three of the green shorts guy in full, you’ll be rewarded with a bet multiplier of times 20. The second boost is known as the Surf Team Bonus, and this requires you to spin one of each of the surfers in full across the reels. This will then reward you with a pay out of 200 times your bet placed.

      To Finish the Day

Wild Water is definitely an interesting and compelling game to play. It has a great theme, and because of this, Netent has been able to offer up quality graphics and special additions. Not only that, but it also has a great soundtrack, and presents players with a flash back to those golden hippy days of times gone by.
