Rabbit in the Hat Slot Review

For centuries, the hat trick has been one of the most liked and well-known magic acts ever, and it basically sees a performer produce an object out of an apparently empty top hat. This is traditionally a rabbit or a bouquet of flowers, and it’s this trick that Microgaming’s slot game, ‘Rabbit in the Hat’ is based upon. As such, you’ll get all the magic and thrills of a full performer’s show whenever you play it. This being the case, you’ll find some velvet curtains draped in the background of the game, where the stage of the act is set to take place. The magician who is taking control of the show can be seen stood to the right hand side of the stage, clutching on to his magic wand and top hat. It doesn’t really have a set soundtrack included with it, instead preferring to have the regular Microgaming casino noises injected into it. This is a little bit of shame because with such a great base theme, there’s potential for an appropriate piece of theme music.

      Alakazam!

The interface of this game is presented on a five reel and three row layout, so you’ll be playing on a fairly familiar display overall. It is here that you’ll also be able to find the various different symbols included in the game, starting with the zany designed A, J, K, Q, 9 and 10 icons. These are joined by more theme-relative symbols, which come in the form of a water filled and chained tank for the magician to escape from, followed by a bullseye target board with a knife stuck through it. Furthermore, you’ll find another icon in the form of a locked chest, and the fourth high paying icon is represented by the white rabbit. Finally, the two high paying symbols are present in the form of the magicians assistant and the magician himself.

As well as the reels, rows and icons, you’ll find that the developer has inserted a total of nine different pay lines alongside. This is not something that you’re able to alter in any way, so you’ll always be gambling on nine bet lines. However, on top of this, you can change around the amount of the wager you place per spin. This is done by adjusting the value of a single coin, and this is able to be changed between its minimum of $0.01 and its maximum of $0.20 per pay line. The amount of these coins that you play per line can be switched between one and 10, and therefore, you’ll be able to place a maximum overall wager of $18 per spin.

How Many Rabbits Can You Pull from the Hat?

You’ll find that the first feature of this game can be seen instantly as you begin spinning the reels. At the top of the reels, you’ll see the magician conjure up some hats at random, and these will move one space along to the left with every spin. When a wild icon appears on a reel with a hat above it, that hat’s prize will be rewarded. There are four different hat features with the first of these being the green top hat which awards a cash prize. There’s also the pink one which expands to turn up to three reels wild, the blue one which provides you with 10 freespins altogether, as well as the purple hat which will randomly award one of the previously mentioned perks.

In the base game, any one of the four aforementioned hats can appear above reel five and up to 50 freespins can be awarded should five of the freespin hats make an appearance and move to the left. However, freespins give you the possibility of winning up to 90,000 coins. This round also begins with a hat above every single reel and on every one of the freespins, a random hat will be added above the fifth reel.

Finally, as noted briefly, there’s a wild symbol included in the game, and this is represented by the black top hat. It will substitute for any other icon on the reels in order to form a winning combination, but if five of them appear on a winning pay line, you’re able to receive a maximum pay out of 10,000 coins.

      Illusions of Grandeur

Rabbit in the Hat is one of our personal favourites from the Microgaming portfolio. Not only does it have a great base theme and perfect special features alongside, there’s also the inclusion of high quality graphics and animations as well. And yes, it may not have quite an adequate enough piece of theme music to go along with it, but it certainly makes up for that with the stunning game play.
