Jester’s Jackpot Slot Review

A jester has the job of making you laugh. Well this one may well be able to do that without uttering a single joke if you manage to win some big cash prizes in this entertaining slot release from Microgaming.

Back in the day three-reel slot games were the main ingredient in the amusement arcades and pubs/clubs. They were simple but effective games and certainly entertained those who tried their luck on them. Technology has advanced so we now get the complex five-reel games but Microgaming still pay homage to the games of the past with a whole selection of three-reel games.

With there being just the three reels being played it means there’s lots of space to play with. The top left-hand corner of the screen shows the all-important reels. They are rather basic and there’s just the one pay-line to try and get some wins on. The background is made up of light and dark blue diamonds.

 

Laugh While Winning

Underneath the reels are the Jester’s Jackpot logo with the Jester’s green eyes poking out. Perhaps he’s jealous of the more complex five-reel games. On the right-hand side, you see the paytable. No need to access a second screen here and all the information you need about how much each winning combination pays is all in one place, more about that soon.

Symbols will bring back a few memories for those of you who have been playing slot games for a fair while. Back in the day fruit and bars were the most popular symbols so it’s good to see them back here making a welcome reappearance.

There’s the cherries which as usual are the lowest paying symbols in the game. We also get a single bar, a bar with the word ‘Jester’s’ written above it and the highest paying symbol is the Jester’s Hat. It may look rather silly but if it gets you the jackpot you’re not going to be moaning, are you?

When you play there’s the option of placing one coin, two coins or three coins with the rewards increasing as your stake increases. It’s an easy game to operate so no problems whatsoever when it comes to setting your stake for each spin of the reels.

Playing the game costs between €0.75 if you wish to play at maximum level and €15. Hardly a game for the high-rollers of you out there. Simply work out a budget and stick to it and enjoy playing this slot game.

Cheeky Cherry

Just one cherry on the pay-line will earn you either 2x, 4x or 6x your line stake.  Two cherries take that win up to either 5x, 10x or 15x and three wins you 20x, 40x or 60x. The big wins are for the Jester Bars that pay 50x, 100x or 150x and if three Jester’s hats come along your win will be either 800x, 1600x or 2400x your line stake. Enough to put a smile on your face for sure, well more likely than the average Ricky Gervais joke.

This game may pay homage to the games that we used to play years ago but often Microgaming do put something modern in. That’s not the case with this game as there is no wild symbol, scatter symbol and no sign of anything resembling a bonus game. So, if you like free spins or pick ‘em games then you are going to be disappointed here. That’s not to say it’s not an entertaining game, it’s just a bit like the jester leaving out his best jokes but still having enough to raise a giggle or two.

Final Words

Another Microgaming slot that pays homage to games from the past. I can just imagine using my pocket money on this game while waiting for my mum to finish playing bingo. There are some good prizes to be won here and if you are new to slot games then this is well worth playing before moving onto the more complex ones that Microgaming release.
