      House of Dragons Slot Review

I’m not too sure I fancy living in a house of dragons. Mind you, there probably wouldn’t be any problems lighting the fire. We’re off to China again for this popular slot from Microgaming.

There are plenty of winning opportunities available and a lucrative bonus game that can see your account balance flying higher than a dragon.

      Not So Scary Dragons

The Far East is a popular home for many a slot game. This one is set in what looks like a courtyard and could easily be part of one of those dramas set in China. It certainly lives up to its name of House of Dragons but rather than being those scary ones on ‘Game of Thrones’, this are innocent ornamental ones, far safer.

The game has a great look to it and the reels are set between a couple of dragon decorated pillars really enhancing the theme of the game. The same can be said of the soundtrack which could easily be played while you’re having a late-night meal at the local Chinese takeaway. If you don’t like it there’s always the option to mute it.

‘House of Dragons’ has a total of 20 pay-lines on its five reels and three rows of symbols. Those aren’t fixed so it’s up to you to decide just how many to activate and your stake for the next spin. The minimum needed to play with all 20 pay-lines in play is €1.00 and the maximum €200. A good range so whether playing for fun or trying to win huge amounts of cash, this will suit you down to the ground.

      Double Delight

The symbols certainly enhance the theme of the game. They include a red lantern, a fan, an archer and a Chinese coin. There’s also the ten to Ace playing card symbols that pad out the reels and are the lowest paying symbols in the game.

It’s always good to see a wild symbol in a slot game but even better is when there are two. That’s the case here with the Golden Dragon and the Emperor both fulfilling that role. They can both substitute for other symbols in the game giving you a better chance of getting winning combinations. Their powers are limited though as it’s not possible for the to sub for the scatter symbol which is the fan or the Archer bonus symbol. Better news however is that when the Golden Dragon wild symbol creates a winning combination, that win is doubled.

If you fancy a bit of time away from the reels (perhaps to phone for a Chinese takeaway), you can still carry on playing the game. There’s an Autoplay feature that allows up to 50 automated spins to be set. They can be stopped at any time by yourself and will end if you are lucky enough to trigger the bonus round.

This isn’t a complicated game and it’s easy to operate. It’s still a good idea to have a look through the paytable. That has lots of details about the game including how much each winning combination pays. Have some free games too just to see how everything runs.

Up for a Game of Arrows?

Three or more of the fan scatter symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the Fan Feature. It’s a simple game with the fans being turned over to revealed a cash win and if you are lucky a multiplier. It’s possible you might not even win anything, perhaps that’s why I found it fairly easy to trigger.

The main bonus game in ‘House of Dragons’ is the Archery game. To trigger this, you need to get three or more of the archer symbols on an active pay-line. Now it’s time for a bit of a gamble as you can put the win you’ve just had on the line but get it wrong and you lose everything. If you do decide to go for the gamble, then you have to pick one of the four targets on the screen, each of which has a different prize on offer. The archer now takes aim and hopefully he’ll hit the required target. If he misses though that’s the bet lost.

      Dragons Decision

An entertaining game for sure. There’s a fair bit happening and the bonus games are a little bit different from what you may be used to. Be careful with the gamble in the Archery Game though and don’t waste good wins.
