      Hexaline Slot Review

A change is as good as a rest and that’s exactly what you’ll get when playing this slot from Microgaming. If you’ve ever watched the game-show ‘Blockbuster’s then the look of this slot will bring back some memories of the grid that it was played on.

      Battle the Grid

You see ‘Hexaline’ may well have five reels but there’s no paylines like you’re used to in the vast majority of slot games you try your luck on. How does this all work then because surely without any paylines it’s going to be a bit difficult to get a winning combination? Well what happens is that your aim is to get matching groups of hexagons that extend from one side of the reels to the other.

Now to understand this fully it’s even more important than ever to take a good look through the paytable. This shows you the geometric lines (it’s like being back in double mathematics!) that get you winning combinations. Having some free games is really important here just so you know exactly what’s going on in this game. No point wasting cash on this and not fully knowing how the game plays.

There’s a total of 18 hexagons in this game and they are in a variety of different colours. Six in all and each has a different multiplier. Again the full details are in that all-important paytable. Playing ‘Hexaline’ doesn’t have to break your bank. It can cost between €0.10 and €50. You should be able to find a level here that keeps your financial security safe. Just gamble what you can afford to lose.

      Bring on the Wild

The wild symbol is the pink and white hexagon. You’ll be keen to see this appear as much as possible beause it can substitute for other symbols to get you some important winning combinations and that can really boost your account balance.

This game looks different and it is but despite that it’s still easy to play. All the control buttons are situated down at the bottom of the screen so no problem operating this game.

      Ride the Golden Train

There’s one bonus game available in this game. That’s the Golden Train Bonus Round and you need to get three or more of the ‘bonus’ hexagons on the screen. Doing that causes a bit of a change to the look of this game. All the multi-coloured hexagons suddenly turn yellow and it’s decision time.

What you need to do is pick one of the hexagaons from the first reel. Now this is when the game becomes a bit similar to the Michael Barrymore game-show ‘Strike It Lucky.’  Your hope is that the hexagon you’ve just chosen reveals a forward arrow. If it does that means you’ve won a cash prize and you can go onto the next reel to do exactly the same all over again but this time you need a back arrow to be revealed.

Then it’s time to choose a hexagon on the reel to the left of the one that you’ve just been on. This keeps going on until you are unlucky enough to choose a hexagon that has a red cross on it. That ends the bonus game but hopefully by then you’ve had some good wins.

      Final Words

It’s always good to play a game that is a little bit different. That’s the case here with its rather strange look. The lack of paylines and spinning reels might initally make you wonder what on earth is going on but stick with it. This is fun to play and there are some good wins to be had particularly if the bonus game is triggered.
