      Chief’s Fortune Slot Review

We’re back on the Indian reservation for another of the popular Chief’s slot games from top designers Microgaming. Lots of chances to win some big cash prizes here and you won’t need any smoke signals to break the news to friends.

This is another of Microgaming’s slot games that pays homage to the three-reel games that used to dominate the slot industry in the past. Nowadays we are used to seeing complicated five-reel games that are packed with animated symbols, free spins, pick ‘em games and sometimes take a bit of understanding before playing.  This three-reel game is a little bit of a hybrid though as it may well look like one of those classic games but it also has some modern-day features that will make this game attractive to those who prefer the newer slot machines.

The game has a really attractive look to it and it’s certainly a lot better than ‘Chief’s Magic’ which was previously released by Microgaming. Just like a movie sequel it’s not always the case that the following release is better than others in the series. Anyone who’s ever had to sit through ‘Grease 2’ or the sequel to ‘The Blues Brothers’ will testify to that disappointing feeling.

As with other three-reel games, all the information you need to know about the game is on one screen. No clicking of buttons to access the paytable here, all that information is on the right-hand side of the screen so you can instantly see how much each winning combination pays. Then it’s just a question of spinning the reels and trying to get your hands on them.

This is one of those games that only has the one pay-line on which to get some wins but there are three levels of pay-out. The more you decide to stake, the more your winnings will be. That’s all sounding good but just be careful with your budget and don’t go chasing massive wins at the expense of not sticking to your budget. There’s a fixed coin level of €1 and the maximum just €3. Not a game to excite the high rollers of you out there but neither is it one for those used to playing penny slots.

It’s an easy game to play and all the control buttons are at the bottom of the screen. It’s really easy to set your stake for each spin of the reels.

      Chase the Chief

Symbols include the chief in his ceremonial headdress and he’s a great sight. There’s also the traditional slot symbols, namely a Bar logo that has an orange border to keep in with the theme and the Red 7 also gets into the mood.

The top prize in this game is 2000x for three of the Chief in his stunning headdress. To win that amount though you have to be playing at the maximum level.  If playing with one coin you can still win 500x and two gets you 1000x your coin level, still well worth winning though.

The chief symbol really is important because it’s also the wild symbol. That means it can earn you some winning combinations by substituting for other symbols in the game.

      Dress Up

Now this may be a three-reel game with a retro look but it does have that modern feel. As well as the substituting, wild symbol there’s also a bonus game here which is rather rare. The key symbol here is the special arrows symbol. When they appear on the central pay-line then you’re taken to a new screen where a special task is allocated.

That’s to dress the chief for his rain dance. Rather strange items of clothing though, would he really be seen in bunny slippers and football helmets? You can win cash prizes though by clicking on four items of clothing so no worries on that score and good to see a bonus game in a slot like this. The highest value win is if you can actually get the chief dressed in traditional Native American clothing and that’s worth 150.

      Any Reservations?

One of the better three-reel slot games from Microgaming. It has a good look to it, there are some excellent wins to be had and the presence of a bonus game is very welcome. No free spins but it’s an entertaining enough and rather amusing bonus game.
