To us, a game entitled ‘Adventure Palace’ provides imagery of a fun house of wonders, with fast-paced action at every turn. A sort of mansion-sized fun treat for everyone to participate in. In actuality, Microgaming has instead been a little misleading, treating fans of theirs to a product which centres around animals in their natural habitats. It doesn’t really seem to fit together with the game’s name, but then again, it wouldn’t be the first game in history to be in this situation. So, let’s push the name to one side for a moment and see what positives it offers up. As far as graphics are concerned, it’s very nicely designed, with a background of foliage to keep things simple, and various icons of different animals drawn to a highly professional level. Not only that, but the incorporated soundtrack is also very much on point, presenting you with jungle and animal sounds – although the constant bird sounds can get very frustrating fairly quickly.

Adventurous Reels?

The game presents players with a five reel and three row layout, so it’s nothing specifically new or unique to get used to. It is on these reels that players will get the chance to see the various different integrated icons, and these begin with the animals. The first of these is the watchful tiger, which is followed by the oddly shaped monkey. There’s also a golden cobra snake and a vibrant peacock. Finally, there are two red-headed, white birds, which could possibly be whooping cranes. These are joined by an ornately decorated elephant, which provides one of the special symbols of the game, as well as a spectacular view of some mountains and an elaborate building.

Microgaming have added a total of nine different pay lines to this game, and these would appear to be fixed in place in the first instance. However, you can customise them by clicking on the preferred number of active pay lines down the sides of the reels. You’re also able to change your stake per round as well, which starts from its minimum level of $0.09, and can then be increased with the plus button to a maximum level of $90 per spin. This, therefore, provides you with your maximum overall wager amount.

What’s So Special About It?

This developer can tend to be a bit hit and miss with its special features, but Adventure Palace does have one or two qualities added to it in order to provide a more fulfilling gaming experience. The first of these is the wild symbol, which is where the aforementioned elephant comes in to play. This will act as a stand in for any other symbol on the reels, except scatters, and will form a winning combination. Any win including the elephant will also see that your pay out is doubled. Should five of these come in to view on an active pay line, players can receive up to $100,000 as winnings.

There’s also a scatter icon, which is the scenic view symbol. Scatters, as in all games, pay out wherever they show up on the reels. Should you manage to spin three or more of these on to the reels, you’ll also trigger the game’s freespins round. You’ll be provided with a total of 15 freespins, and during this round, any wins formed will be tripled. A further 15 freespins can be activated again during the round, providing you with ample opportunities to form several winning combinations.

Finally, there is also a gamble feature included in this game. This is triggered at the end of any win formed in the base game. Should you choose to go ahead with the gamble round, you’ll be presented with a face down card and two different gamble options. You can either guess the colour of the next turned over card, or guess the suit. The former will double your win, while the latter will quadruple it for you! If you get the gamble guess wrong, you’ll lose everything.

Is it an Adventure?

This product is by no means a bad one. It features various different special features and the graphics included are good enough too. There’s just something not quite right about the title and the theme of the game for us. But, on the whole, it will present some fun gaming time.
