      Yummy Fruits Slot Review

Yummy Fruits is just the dose of classic gaming you need to start your day off; it has low variance, but that doesn’t mean it should be left out in the cold and forgotten. Too many old-fashioned real cash slots get left behind because of the hype surrounding new releases; it makes sense, but it’s unfair. The two offer very different gameplay options.

Take the 5 reels and 5 paylines of this beauty – it has no additional features, unless you count its gamble options. However, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t generate high interest from users, nor that it doesn’t provide entertainment. Quite the opposite in fact.

Isn’t it about time you got yummy for fruits with us?

      They’ve Got Personality

One aspect of the grid that strikes us as odd is that the fruit have faces; this might be a fictional game, but should it really be called Yummy Fruits when they have identity? We just feel bad about potentially eating of said fruits, and when they start to tumble off of the reel, having not made a win.

The design is a curious one, and one of novelty among the vintage slot machines available; fruits are a staple part of the aesthetic, but normally in a more conventional format. Then there’s the pastel shades to lighten the mood, in an attempt to get away from the dingy aesthetic that haunts a lot of old school slots. Yummy Fruits is like Merkur has tried to reimagine the classic format, but only so far.

      Highly Animated

We felt guilty before we spun those reels, but having watched as all the fruits fall out of view, their faces screaming as they go (no, seriously), we’re almost dreading our next round.

All joking aside, the fact that such a low impact slot machine has such high quality animated images, goes to show that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. A lot of games, from Merkur even, don’t have animated qualities, and yet their newer than this title.

      Happy Go Lucky

Yummy Fruits brings the fun with it, not just from those humanised fruits, but from having the ability to control your destiny, or your money’s destiny. The fact that gamble options are provided shouldn’t come as a surprise, but what should is how easily you control the flow (or lack of) when you enter these rounds.

There’s no promise of definite wins, but you can take a portion of your winnings and keep them before you risk your money, allowing for a small form of safety net. Then you have the option of playing one of two versions of the double or nothing, rather than being restricted to just one.

When you think about, Merkur have been highly generous with including two features, as well as a top prize (in each) of 140 credits.

      Winning Combination

Securing a win is tricky, for the level of challenge here is the same as in all Merkur’s games: it’s tough going. And so you just have to hope that those fruits line up how you want them to; the lack of winlines makes this harder.

All of the symbols, of which there’s seven, have the chance to show up in a grouping of three, four or five, with the latter being the most beneficial to your balance. Every icon is worthy, but the red 7 is the golden goose of this feast, bringing in between 0.50 and 1,600 credits. It’s true that low paying users will get stung for not being as forthcoming with their cash, but in truth they’re not missing out on a massive prize to begin with.

      Too Sweet to Handle?

Yummy Fruits is a good slot machine, we don’t dispute that, but it almost feels to sickly sweet to be a tasty dose of fun. In a bid to overcome their dated and dull image, we can’t help but wonder whether Merkur have gone too far and created an unnecessarily cutesy interface? Nonetheless, for a quick game and some pocket money, this slot is just the ticket.
