Rocket Man is an iconic slot from IGT, one whose 1920s flourishes and gorgeous graphics will elicit major nostalgia in anyone who has the privilege of spinning its reels. 99 paylines and a Tumbling Reels feature allow for ample action in this 5-reel thriller.

One of the 20th century’s favourite superheroes, Rocket Man hasn’t received much fanfare in recent years. Well, IGT are on a mission to change all that. The comic book hero and star of various movies has been reborn in this 5-reel slot, one that retains all the charm and wit of the original cartoon, despite its transformation from children’s adventure to adults’ video slot.

The game’s protagonist cuts a dashing figure with his yellow perspex specs, white gloves and rocket pack strapped to his back. As a crime-fighting force for good, he’s tasked with defeating the forces of evil, rescuing the stolen bullion and generally setting the world to rights before bedtime. The action takes place on a standard 5×3 grid, housed within a 1920s wireless radio.

How to Play

The other symbol of note is wild, which simply appears as the word WILD in flame scorched letter on a blue background. The blue wild will substitute for all of the regular playing symbols and will only appear on the first 3 reels. These is a secondary wild to watch out for however, this one featuring a brown background. It operates identically to the blue wild but will only appear on reels 2-4.

Tumbling Reels

The other primary feature to be found in Rocket Man is the tumbling reels feature. Winning combos on both lit and unlit lines can trigger tumbling reels, and this feature can appear at any stage in play, be it during the base game or during a feature game.

At this stage, symbols in winning combinations will disappear, to be replaced by symbols tumbling from above. The reels will keep tumbling until eventually there isn’t a win generated.
